"Tris Prior" Jeanine stands in front of a camera, I thought she was dead.

How did she fake her death so well?

"You've been the most difficult to track down, but once we knew where your little friends were the rest was a piece of cake." She explains, her eyes glint, like every Erudite who's knowledge or power hungry.

"What do you want Jeanine?" Tris questions sharply. There isn't video footage of her, it must only be audio. Thank god. I don't want her getting hurt.

"I want you to come down to the main floor." Jeanine says arrogantly. If she honestly thinks Tris will do anything for me at this moment she must be mistaken. On the other hand, she doesn't know I'm here, it's better this way. I just hope she doesn't ask.

"And what if I don't?" I can tell by Tris's tone she's rolling her eyes. No. Bad idea Tris.

"Glad you asked," Jeanine says, starting to pace. If she takes another step towards me I swear. The camera follows her steps. "We'll be forced to kill your little friend over here." I don't look up at the camera. Hopefully she won't notice who it is.

The soilders around me get a tighter grip on me as I tense. Tris better not notice, it's the only way to keep her safe.

"Tobias." She says quietly. I look up at the camera.

"Tris don't come down here. It's not worth it." I say, only to get rewarded with the back of a gun colliding with my  jaw. I grunt out of frustrantion. That will leave a nice bruise.

"Tobias!" Tris yells, I hear footsteps running out of her hospital room. It's not safe. She hasn't been approved to leave her room yet.

"It will be most easy if you cooperate with us Mr. Eaton. Otherwise we will be forced to take other measures you are not going to like." Jeanine says, even without the factions, she chooses to still speak like an Erudite.

"Why would I ever cooperate with you?" I ask, I had other words to say, but they didn't come out. Instead I get another reward. I hard punch to the stomach. The soldiers let me drop to the ground in pain. There is only one person I know who can put that much power behind a punch.

Eric.

I look up to find him staring at me.

"You're not so tough now are you?" Eric taunts.

"I would be better, but you just made a horrible mistake." I start my eyes meeting his firey gaze. "If you do anything to hurt Tris in any way the Grim Reaper will be at your door the next morning."

"Why," Eric keeps his tone the same, "Because your doing her? Oh wait. I forgot, Stiffs don't do that kind of thing." It's the exact same thing he said before his execution. I forgot. "I won't hurt her. Unless she refuses."

Eric died.

How the heck is he here now then?

As if on cue Tris bursts down the stair well into the main hallway.

"And there she is." Jeanine says matter-o-factly. "The last piece of our plan."

"What do you want with me?" Tris pants, trying to catch her breath.

"We need you to broadcast a message inside the fence that you are on our side now. The whole area knows you." Jeanine explains, "We need to show them that you are one of us. They will give up after that."

"Tris, don't do it." I yell, but I just get punched by Eric, in the nose this time. I can feel a steady stream of blood running down my jawline and dripping onto the floor.

"Tobias!" Tris sreams as she runs towards me. Two Dauntless traitors run up and block her path.  They hold her back from me. One punches her in the jaw and she collapses.

"You told me you wouldn't hurt her!" I yell, my voice straining.

"Correction." Eric starts, "I said I wouldn't hurt her unless she refuses."

"How is this considered refusing?" I retort, his expression sours. Eric snaps his fingers and a gun goes off. A searing pain rips through my arm.

That bastard just shot me in the arm!

"Tobias!" Tris screams, she flails her arms in attempt to escape the soldiers' grip.

My vision starts going black on the edges, I must be loosing a lot of blood. "I'm fine Tris." I say, "Don't do anything stupid okay? I'll be fine. Don't do anything they want you to do." Another shot goes off, this time it wasn't shooting at me. It was shooting at Tris. She cries out in pain. There is blood rapidly spreading down the sleeve of her shirt.

"Tris!" I yell, I feel tears burning the back of my eyes.

"I love you." I say, and I truly mean it. My vision fades more, only a small portion of my sight is left before the darkness envelopes it. I keep it trained on Tris.

"I love you too Tobias." Its the last thing I hear before the darkness takes over my world.
