Justin's POV

"Who exactly is that guy you tried to act like you weren't looking at?" I questioned as Victoria and I were sitting on my couch nibbling on the brownies that I made.

When we got back to my place, we first changed into comforting clothes. She was wearing my white v-neck that went just below her ass as I had on sweatpants. As soon as we headed back into the kitchen, she decided to get right to cooking. I watched for the most part until I figured that I should be useful and started on the brownies.

She made chicken and shrimp pasta and we ate at the counter as the brownies cooked. There was small talk, but we both tried to avoid the serious topic that needed to be discussed. Commitment. Even after Victoria clearly wanted to talk about it, she distracted us both with comments about the event and the different people I worked with, who she met. It was a pretty good tactic because I loved talking about business.

"Who?" she giggled while biting off a piece of the caramel brownie, holding the round plate near her mouth in case any crumbs were to fall.

"The guy I saw at Phantom, who you said you went to high school with. You clearly know him..." I brought the rim of my milk filled glass to my lips.

"Okay, we're really going to have this talk now," she sighed as I took a sip and then set the glass down on the coffee table. I looked at her weirdly because for a second I didn't quite understand the connection between that guy and us, but then I remembered that she briefly  told me about a previous relationship.

"He's the one," I said hesitantly, watching her expression quickly change to sadness. I hated that look on her, especially if it was my fault for putting it there. Which, I have done already and don't ever want to be the person to do it again.

"Yeah," she looked down at her plate and stared at the brownie, tossing around the bits that fell apart. "His name is Wesley."

"Will you tell me what happened?" I asked softly. I needed to know so I could understand why exactly she acted like he was Satan's spawn. Did he hurt her physically, emotionally, mentally?

"Okay," she replied and continued to avoid eye contact. "I flew to surprise him for his birthday, so he had no clue that I was there the night of a football game. He got really drunk and whenever he gets drunk, he acts like a sloppy mess," she shook her head. "There were pictures of him and this girl, they were way too touchy for my liking. Sofia instigated and found more pictures on her page. She was mad when I decided to ignore it all and still wanted to surprise him."

"Wait, you flew to where?" I took a bite out of my brownie and quickly chewed. I was nervous as hell to find out the details of what happened.

"California," she laughed. "First time I've ever gone on a plane."

"Oh, wow." I've flown to a lot of places since I graduated high school. It became a regular thing when I first started out with my business. I was always traveling to make deals with people from across the country. "Did he uh bring up the pictures or try to explain himself?"

"No," she lifted her head and looked at me. "His best friend Garett picked me up from my hotel the next morning on his birthday and tried to make excuses for Wesley's actions. I ignored it all and waited until I saw Wesley to confront him. When we got to his dorm, I woke Wesley up. I really missed seeing his sleepyhead," she smiled to herself and I felt a little jealousy flow through my veins.
