Imagine becoming a vampire and Elijah helps you deal with it

Elijah sat next to you, waiting impatiently for you to wake up from the dead. He had been standing by your side for quite a while now, staring at you and still trying to figure out how to announce you that you were becoming a vampire. He hated to drop a bombshell to you, especially in this case since he was full aware those news wouldn't please you too much.

Suddenly, you abruptly arouse, and glanced around Elijah's room, wondering how you got in here. Somehow, you couldn't remember anything. Your gaze fell upon Elijah, who read the confusion in your face. He sighed and avoided eye contact with you. He refused to lie to you because you would eventually found out the truth, but at the same time, he dreaded your reaction. He took a deep breath and finally spoke.

"Y/N, you died with my blood in your system."

"W-wait that means I-I'm becoming a vampire?" You stuttered, your voice barely audible. You already anticipated his answer, but you were hoping Elijah would tell you it was only a big joke, which would be very unlikely from him. However, this was reality, and you needed to cope with it, or at least try to.

"Yes."

Your jaw dropped to the floor and your eyes almost popped out from their socket. Your facial features distorted into fear, but you remained silent, unable to muster a single word. Obviously, turning into a vampire came with a lot of upsides, but it also implied major changes that would impact your life forever, and truthfully, it frightened you. Every vampire in history has at least killed one person, and you couldn't even bear the thought of hurting someone. You had witnessed Elena's transformation before, when she turned off her humanity, which was pretty appalling, thus you hoped that it would never happen to you. Elijah scanned your expression, and endeavored to earn your forgiveness.

"You have all the rights to be mad at me, and I am truly sorry that you have to go through this, I should've been there for you and-"

"Elijah, none of this is your fault. Don't blame yourself." You interrupted him.

"Darling, I understand becoming a vampire isn't something you wished for and that a lot comes with that, but I can assure you that I will assist you through every step you do. Please allow me to help you."

He grabbed your hand and caressed the top of it in attempt to reassure you.

Considering you lived in a town full of vampires and frequently got dragged into their drama, you knew that someday, you would eventually become one of them, but you weren't expecting that day to come so soon and you weren't ready for it either. No matter how hard Elijah strove to protect you from his enemies and exclude you from his problems, somehow, you always winded up right in the middle of them, which often put your life in jeopardy. He always managed to shield you from any danger, but this time, he failed and he felt quite guilty for that. He reprimanded himself for what was happening to you, because according to his words, you should never have to deal with changes like this. But as much as you tried to avoid them, they would always catch you. It was practically inevitable. A million of thoughts rushed through your mind as you proceeded everything.

"I got this for you. Wear it." Elijah declared, handing you a daylight ring.

"Thank you."

"You must feed on someone to complete your transition." Elijah added.

"No, I can't." You retorted.

"You have to or else you-"

"I will die, I know."

"How about we take a walk? You need to clear your mind. We'll figure out things later." He suggested.

You nodded your head and accompanied him out of the house.
