Imagine #36: Stefan

Imagine Stefan losing his memory so you decide to relive some of your favorite moments together

After a strange witch spell, Stefan lost all his memories which meant that he didn't remember anything nor anyone. He had forgotten every little detail about his life, even the most important events, and it quite worried you. You even had to remind him that you were his girlfriend, otherwise he would've never known. However, you were determined to help him get back all his memories. 

You kept reminiscing on his past, but he never had a clue about what you were saying. It had been days now and so far, nothing changed. He had become a complete different person. As you much as you hated to admit, you were like a stranger to him. You used to be his world and now you were nothing but a faded, long-lost memory. It hurt you to see him in this state, but you couldn't think of a solution. You eventually started to lose hope. Perhaps you just needed to accept the fact that he might never remember you even though the thought frightened. You spent a while trying to find a way to fix this situation, but it was pointless.

"Wait, so if I recall everything you said, Damon is my brother and you are my girlfriend right?" Stefan asked as he looked through old pictures.

"I've already answered this question a million times, but yes." You sighed.

"When was this?" He questioned, pointing to a picture of you and him.

"Last summer. We went on a road trip." You smiled at the thought.

He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion before glancing at you.

"Doesn't it remind you of anything?" You inquired.

He shook his head and apologized. You let out a deep sigh and leaned back on the couch, officially losing all remaining hope. You sat there and immersed into deep thoughts. You diverted your gaze towards Stefan, who was still flicking through the photo album you gave him. An idea suddenly popped into your mind. Instead of looking through old pictures, you decided to take a walk down memory lane and show him a few places that he might recognize.

You jumped to your feet and grabbed his hand. You pulled him up off the couch and quickly headed out the door.

"Where are we going?" Stefan asked.

"You'll see."

You hopped into your car and drove to Mystic Falls High School. Within a few minutes, you reached your destination.

"Where are we?" Stefan asked as he got out from your car and looked up at the huge building in front of him.

"Our high school. It's where we first met." You replied before stepping inside the school.

You walked through the empty hallways as Stefan trailed behind you, wondering where you were taking him.

You stopped dead in your tracks when you came across your history class. You twisted the doorknob to get in, but the door was locked. You turned to Stefan.

"Can you open it?" 

"It's locked. How could I open this?"

"You're a vampire, remember? I've already told you that. Just use all your strength." You stated.

He hesitantly looked at you and kicked the door with his foot. Much to his surprise, the door swung open. He gasped and raised his eyebrows. You giggled and stepped inside the classroom.

"Wow. I didn't know I was this strong." He said, impressed by his skills.

"Well, that's the perks of being a vampire."

You took a deep breath and scanned the room. You then went to sit down at one of the desks, looking up at Stefan. He walked over to your desk and sat down next to you.

"One year ago, I was in this class, almost falling asleep, until you came in. You were a new student. You sat down next to me and asked me for a pencil. That was the first time we ever talked." You rambled.

"Do you also remember what color my socks were?" He joked.

You rolled your eyes and playfully hit his shoulder.

"I hate to break it to you Y/N, but my memory won't just suddenly come back."

"You're right. We should try something else then." You said.

You got up and walked out of the classroom, motioning Stefan to follow you. You both wandered through the hallways until you reached the gym where your school prom had been held a few months ago.

"What's so special about this place?" 

"This is where we attended our first school dance together. You asked me to be your prom date and you even confessed your feelings to me that night." You explained, pacing around the room.

Stefan smiled to himself as a sudden idea came into his mind. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and looked through his music playlist. He put on a random song and grabbed your hand, twirling you around.

"What are you doing?" You giggled, facing him.

"Dancing with you." He grinned.

He placed his hands on your waist as you wrapped your arms around his neck, smiling. You gazed into each other's eyes and danced along to the music playing in the background. You completely lost track of time and winded up spending over an hour dancing and talking.

After a while, you finally decided to leave.

"When was our official first date?" Stefan questioned curiously as you both walked over to your car.

A smile instantly crept on your face.

"Why don't I show you instead?"

You drove to the fair, which was only a ten minute ride.

"I feel like I've already been here before." Stefan mumbled as soon as you set foot inside the amusement park.

"You did. You took me here for our first date." You replied.

You wandered through the amusement park and tried a few rides. Hours elapsed by and you didn't even notice. You were having too much fun to realize it.

"Hey, which one do you want?" Stefan asked as he stopped by a souvenir stand and pointed to all the teddy bears. You smiled and showed him the one you wanted.

"This is kinda funny because I remember when we first came here, you also bought me a teddy bear." You blushed as he pulled out his wallet and paid for the teddy bear.

A shy grin spread across his face.

"So, um, wanna go on the Ferris wheel?"

You nodded your head and you both headed towards the ride. You waited in line for a few minutes until you finally got into your seat.

The wheel started moving, gradually going up. You looked towards Stefan, who was already staring at you. He leaned in and connected his lips with yours, catching you off guard. He pulled away a few seconds later and you gave him a surprised look, but you couldn't manage to suppress your smile.

"I may not remember everything, but I know for a fact that I'm falling in love with you." He admitted.
