43. An interview to remember

Effie's POV

"Ladies and gentleman on this special night out next guests are here to see you, It's Haymitch Abernathy and Effie Trinket!" I take Haymitch's hand in mine and we head out on to the stage. "Do my eyes deseave me or is this our very own Effie Trinket stood before me?" Caesar says and it takes me a second to realise that I'm not in my old Capitol glam and that I'm just plain old me.

I laugh slightly before turning to Caesar, "Ohh Caesar you know its me! Just a lot less colourful!"

"Oh my dear you look absolutely radiant! The hair, the clothes what can I say!" Caesar says.

"Why thank you!" I say giving him a kiss on both cheeks before he shakes Haymitch's hand.

"You're a very lucky man Haymitch," Caesar says to him and I can't help but blush.

"That I am," Haymitch says as he takes my hand back in his and kisses me on the cheek causing me to blush even brighter.

"Now come sit sit we have lots to discuss I want to know everything!" Caesar says ushering us to the couch in front of his own seat. "So what have you two been up to? How have you been? Do tell!"

I can't help but laugh at Caesar's enthusiasm, "Things are great Caesar. Since we cane back to twelve we have had it rebuilt and I myself have been designing it all, although not too ostentatious it isn't the Capitol after all!" Caesar laughs and as does the audience, "I've kept it just plain and simple as twelve has always been perfect the way it was, well now it just has a little Effie spin on it."

"Oh my dear I'm sure it's devine, we all know what an original flare you have. I think we all saw that with her outifits didn't we folks?" He asks the audience and they all cheer.

"Ahh yes, my bright clothes really did make a statement," I say almost sadly, my colourful wigs and clothes wouldn't quite suit the simplicity of twelve mind.

"But your hair now?! Just wow. Who would have known that under those wigs of yours were these golden luscious locks!"

"It's growing on me I have to say, although I do miss just waking up and poof different hair each day," I say, "but who doesn't like to mix it up a bit every now and then."

"I sure know I do!" Caesar chuckles. "Now for the question on everybody's minds ... How are you two? We want to know it all! Don't we folks?" They all cheer and I can't help but smile, its good to be a part of this world again, even if just for a little while.

"Things have been amazing Caesar. It's so much nicer being able to not hide our relationship from everyone... Although I'm not so sure we hid it from Katniss and Peeta as much as we thought." Haymitch laughs at that.

"Them two might act dumb sometimes but they're quicker minded than we probably give them credit for!" Haymitch chuckles. "But Effie is right and I don't know what would make me happier." The crowd errupts awwing and I thow myself on Haymitch squeezing him tight.

"I love you Haymitch."

"I love you to darl." He says kissing my cheek before I pull away and sit back properly on the couch.

"You two lovebirds are so cute! Now what is it like living near Peeta and Katniss? Especially with a baby on the way," Caesar asks.

"Let's just say I'm glad I don't have to wake her up anymore," I say with a laugh.

"Every day is different that's for sure," Haymitch says.

"I have some big plans for that little one and if involves a lot of shopping!" I get excited just thinking about it.
