Francis-Daughter of Thor

"How much farther?" I ask in aggravation.

"We've been driving for hours!" I'm tired of sitting in a cramped old car.

"We've been traveling for thirty minutes. No more no less. Stop your whining we've got a ways to go." James replies.

I'm hungry. Apparently he doesn't understand what hunger does to people. Hunger changes people into monsters food-craving monsters. Only to be changed by the antidote of food. As we drive I look out the window. It's just a road. Cars going about their way. BORING! I need something to distract me. I put in my headphones and blare some heavy metal into my eardrums. Slowly I start to drift off into sleep. BANG! I jerk upright. I rip a headphone out of my ear and reach for a throwing knife.

"What on earth was that?" I ask.

To my surprise James answers calmly. He must be in shock.

"There's uh uh a girl with a sword. She landed on top of the car."

James hits the brakes. The passenger window on my side is being broken in to. Next thing I know I'm being pulled out the window of the car. As I'm dragged through the broken glass I hold my knife ready. She has pulled me on top of the car! Luckily James had the sense to pull over off the road.

"You, you are the one? The child of the eye of the hawk? The Avenger?"she asks.

Before she can say another word I break her grip on my wrist and jump off the car.

"Who is asking?" I reply.

I ready myself for combat something tells me this girl would put up a fight. She laughs and hops down beside me.

"Mortal, I am Torrun, daughter of The Mighty Thor, Son of Odin The Allfather. I am a warrior princess of Asgard and I have come to join the Avengers to defend your mortal realm."she replies.

WELL WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO SAY TO THAT? She is literally a child of mythology and here I am trying to take a stand with my little knife. Well at least this explains that green dress she is wearing. I would even consider her kind of pretty IF SHE WASN'T HOLDING A GIANT SWORD. Naturally my defense mechanism kicks in, sarcasm.

"Yeah sure you want me to believe you are the daughter of Thor? You look like some girl from a LARP event, not a princess of Asgard. Get a life girl! This is earth not medieval Europe."

She looks at me and laughs. WHERE IS JAMES? I could use some backup.

"You humans are so petty and tiny"she replies.

That's it. Game over YA CROSSED THE LINE GIRL. I'm not good at talking or being civil. If I can get her sword then I can easily beat her. I throw my dagger at her ear. As she looks away to avoid getting hit I kick her wrist She drops her sword. Quickly I dive for the sword and try to pick it up. It won't budge! What kind of sorcery is this?

"YOU A MORTAL DARE TO ATTACK THE DAUGHTER OF THOR? I have trained my whole life for battle and I will not be defeated by you."

She pulls her sword from my grip and holds the point at my throat.

"JAMEEESSS! A little help here?"I yell.

Next thing I know his shield hits her in the back and she collapses on the ground. She gets up off the ground and grabs her sword. She raises her blade to the sky and begins to chant. We are so dead. All of a sudden lightning flickers across the sky and strikes her sword. I expect her to electrocute us but to my surprise she is being covered in armor that has somehow appeared. As if the Lightning called it. She looks at me as I lie on the ground she looks completely calm and in control.

"Mortal do you surrender?"she asks.

Her armor covers her entire body except for her head. It is silver I can't imagine how much it weighs.

"I never surrender!" I shout.

I'm an idiot. I need my bow I don't stand a chance without my bow. All of a sudden she starts laughing.

"I came to court with peace and here I am engaging in battle. I apologize for the trouble I have caused you. We must learn to work together if we are to vanquish evil from this planet."

She reaches down a hand to help me stand up. I refuse her help and stand up on my own. I'm going to kill James. This entire time with the exception of his one intervention with his shield he has been standing off to the side laughing. I've been so focused on the girl that I never noticed him. Thank goodness we are in a secluded area I could have blown our cover once and for all. What am I supposed to do? I am standing in the company of the daughter of Thor!
