*Blake's POV*
I knew my mom was trying to get rid of me so I went to find the elevator. I had to ask a nurse to point me in the direction of the elevator and after in got lost after few times, I finally found it. I pressed the button and the elevator revealed a young woman and her daughter. From the looks of it, the small girl appeared to be about five or six. I smiled at them and walked onto the elevator. We were all going to the main floor so there was no need to press a button. I looked down and the girl was staring at me with a fearful look. "Ew, mommy! What's wrong with her arms?"
The mother looked down at her and then at my arms, which were exposed because of my short sleeve shirt. She pulled her daughter close to her and wrapped an arm around her. "Shh. You can't say stuff like that, honey,"
"It's okay," I choked. I really wanted to cry but I couldn't. Furthermore, she was a kid and didn't know any better. "They're battle scars,"
"How'd you get them?" the little girl asked. I kneeled down in front of her so that our eyes were at the same level.
"I had a fight with myself and I won," I smiled.
She smiled and innocently asked, "So you're all better now?"
"Almost,"
"Oh. Will I ever get them? I don't like how they look,"
"No," I said. "You're beautiful and you have a mother that cares about you,"
"Okay," she smiled. The little girl gave me a hug and told me to keep fighting until I win. When we reached the our level, the mother said goodbye to me, took the little girl by the hand and walked off. But before finally leaving, the mother turned around and smiled at me. "Thank you," she whispered kindly. In return, I smiled and waved goodbye.
As I was walking I was also looking down and texting Sam when I collided into something hard and slightly taller than me. I felt hands grab my arms, instantly sending me into a frenzy. "No! Don't hurt me! Let me go!" I yelled. I swung my arms around and ran in the opposite direction. "Blake, wait!" a familiar deep voice sounded. I didn't know who it was and I couldn't risk being taken away. My heart pumped through my ears as I pushed myself to run faster. Even though I recognized the voice, I kept running. Apparently I was too slow because the person caught up to me, and stopped me in my tracks. His green eyes met mine and the world became a safe place again. "Bentley?"
"Yeah. It's just me," he said putting both hands up in surrendering position.
"You scared me," I sighed with relief.
"I'm sorry. Why'd you run off like that? Like I was some monster or something,"
"I don't know. I just did," I lied. "What are you doing here?" I asked changing the subject.
"My mom had an appointment. She doesn't like the doctors where we live so she drives two hours just to come here. Why are you here?"
"My mom had an appointment too. She pregnant,"
"Oh, cool," he shrugged. "Wanna go grab something to eat in the cafeteria? I'll pay,"
"Sure, I was headed there anyway,"
I got a smoothie and Bentley got a burger. We sat down across from each other and Bentley asked what type of music I like.
"I like rock, pop, and some heavy metal,"
"So you're into screamo bands and stuff?"
"Not the hardcore stuff. You?"
"I like bands and I love artists like Avicii and Sam Smith. I like Pierce the Veil and Fall Out Boy," he said. "You're a mystery. I feel like I know you so well, yet I know nothing about you," Bentley paused. "Like why you ran away from me and why you have those cuts on your arms,"
