*Olivia's POV*

A few days later, it was time to go to the doctor. I wrestled with the thought of Blake coming with me. I didn't know how she'd take it. Would she be happy to have a younger sibling, or would she hate it? I also didn't want to put too much on her. I mean, I had only adopted her a few months ago and it might be too much on her. Nevertheless, the baby was coming and there was nothing anyone could do about it. I was in the mood for ice cream, so I went to Blake's room and asked her if she wanted to get ice cream.

"Yeah!" she exclaimed with a smile. I still had three hours before I had to be at the doctors so we jumped in the car and drove to Cold Stone Creamery, the best ice cream place in town.

I ordered the cookie dough ice cream and Blake ordered the fun rainbow kind. We sat down across from each other and ate. I looked up at her and took in her beauty. Her hazel eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Her long brown hair fell just below her shoulder blades, moving gracefully each time she moved her head. I admired how perfect her skin was. "Blake," I paused and she looked up at me. "Have I ever told you that you're beautiful?"

She grinned and put a spoonful of the colorful ice cream in her mouth. "Yeah, you tell me all the time, mom," she laughed.

"I'm just making sure. I have to tell my baby girl that she's beautiful all the time and treat her like the princess that she is,"

Blake looked down with a sad expression. "What?" I asked. "You don't believe me?"

"I'm not beautiful," she sighed. "Nobody has ever called me that. Well," Blake paused. "Except for the men who were in the heat of the moment. But no matter how much you say that, I know it's not true. You're beautiful. Halle Berry is beautiful, not me,"

"Stop comparing yourself to other people. You're beautiful in your own way. And I'm sorry that nobody was there to tell you. But I will tell you that every single day if I have to until you believe it,"

"Every day?"

"Every flippin' day," I repeated. She smiled and continued eating her ice cream. I was about to do something. Something that I could possibly be very happy I did, or something I could very well regret. "Honey, I need to tell you something,"

"Sup?"

"I-um, uh- how would you like to have a younger brother or sister?"

She looked up at me with a confused expression on her face. She furrowed her eyebrows amd squinted at me. "What does that mean?"

"Well," I hesitated. "When two people love each other very much, they start families, and sometimes-"

"You're pregnant?" Blake interrupted. I couldn't help but laugh. I knew that she was serious but I couldn't take her seriously.

"Yeah?" I said, more like asking a question than a statement.

"That's great!" she exclaimed quietly. "I've always wanted someone to protect and stuff!"

I was shocked by her immediate response. I was expecting her to show a little sadness of some sort. "Wow! So you're happy about this?"

"Totally! Why wouldn't I be?"

"I just thought- you know, maybe you'd be sad," I said. "Well that's a weight off my shoulders," I looked down and checked my watch. An hour had passed and we needed to get going. We walked outside and Blake grabbed my hand as we walked to the car. "Honey, you can't tell anyone. Especially not Elliot, promise?"

"I promise. Where are we going now?"

"I have a doctors appointment," I said. "By the way, you have one in two weeks,"

"Awh, mommy. I don't wanna go,"

"You have to,"

I signed in and soon after, the nurse called me to the back. I motioned for Blake to take her earphones out and come with me. When the doctor came back, I explained to her my symptoms and that I had taken a pregnancy test. Meanwhile, Blake sat in the chair with her earphones in, nodding her head to the music. My doctor told me that I'd have to have an ultrasound and since the ultrasound nurse wasn't in, she'd do it.

"Well Olivia, you are in fact pregnant," she smiled. "Wanna know what sex it is?"

"Already? How far along am I?"

"Yes. You're four months and two weeks pregnant," she said. Dr. Delaney looked at the monitor and said, "It's a girl,"

My heart leaped for joy. It's exactly what I wanted! But wait, I had done something horrible. A sick feeling came over me and I looked directly at Blake, who was still doing something on her phone. "Blake?" I said. She looked up at me and took an earphone out. "Can you run down to the cafeteria and get me a smoothie? You can get one too if you want. Look in my purse and get the twenty dollar bill,"

She gladly got up, got the money and skipped out. I didn't want her to hear the conversation I was about to have. "Is that your daughter?"

"Yeah. Her name is Blake,"

"Nice," she said with a smile.

"Dr. Delaney, what are the affects of an unborn child when the mother drinks?"

"Brain damage, poor growth, birth defects, and the list goes on. Olivia, is there something you want to tell me?"

"I drank. A lot. Like, I got crazy drunk. I had no idea that I was pregnant. I normally have irregular periods so I thought nothing of it. But it clicked when I thought about how I'd been having sex. Please tell me my baby is okay,"

"Well, from the looks of it, the baby looks fine. The heart rate is good and I see no signs of development problems. But the truth is, you never really know until you actually give birth," she said. "Someone from above is definitely looking out for you. My advice is to take it easy from here on out,"

"But what about my job?"

"I'm sorry, but you gotta go easy. No strenuous work. No running, no working late hours, no stress, and for God's sake no drinking," We both laughed. "I'm gonna give you prenatal vitamins and other stuff to help out,"

"Okay,"
