Night in The Maze (part 2)

It's only been a day since you survived the night in the maze, but all the Gladers are already talking about it. Some, like Gally, are mad because you're not a runner. Non-runners shouldn't go out in the maze, but it felt so right running out there.
Since you got back in the morning, you kept thinking of how you felt. How the adrenaline pumping through you while you ran past grievers made you feel strong and full of power. And that night you were sure, you want to be a runner.

There was a gathering today about you going out there in the maze. You sat down listening to the Keepers discuss about what you did.

"She's not a runner! She shouldn't be out there. 2 weeks in the pit at least!" Gally demanded. You glared at him when he looked at you, he just shrugged it off.

"2 weeks!? You're insane!" Newt argued.

"You're only saying that because she's you girlfriend! Let's face it you're being biased not fair. You just don't want your pretty little shank-"
"Watch your mouth." You spat.
"Girlfriend," he said through gritted teeth, "to be away from you! We have rules Newt. We do not bend them for anyone." Newt's jaw clenched but he remained still.

"How about you shut your mouth before-"
"Enough!" Alby's shouted. You were startled, even jumped out of your seat a little but quickly recovered.

"She saved Minho's life and mine too. She will be forgiven, but next time you-"
"I want to be a runner." You blurted.
You looked over at Newt who's eyes were wide. Gally started laughing, "you? A runner!" You had enough of him thinking he was the better person.

"Yes, me! I haven't seen you survive out there. I haven't even seen you dare to step foot in there." You poked his chest, his face grew red,
"It was my first time in their and I did what no one else could do." You looked over at Newt and bit your lip a little,
"So don't try to act like I can't do it."

"We have rules! You think that I cant survive out there? You're just some dumb girl who does whatever she wants too! No matter what someone tells you, you do the exact opposite. Stupid shank, I don't even-" he was cut off by you launching at him. You jumped onto him and tried to kick abruptly, but he held you still by your waist.

You let out a shriek when he pulled you over his shoulder, keeping you still.

"Stop! Stop!" Newt screamed as he took you off of Gally. Gally had a grin on his face, he ran his hand through his hair and just shrugged.
"Fine, just so that doesn't happen again, let her be a runner. Let her do what she pleases too." He clasped his hands together.
"Okay then, it's settled then?" Alby said while looking at Newt,
Newt began shaking his head but you stopped him "it's what I want to do." You looked at him with hopeful eyes. He sighed, "okay fine, but any small injury that happens to you and you're out." You nodded your head eagerly.
"Okay, it's settled then. (Y/n), your training will start in 2 days. Minho will be the one with you. You are officially a runner if you pass your training."

"I'm pretty sure she already passed." Minho grinned.
