A long time ago on a island called Florence there was a little girl who had lived there for only a few years. When the girl found a strange pretty fruit she ate it. A year later, her mother died and people thought she had Amber Lead Syndrome, people panicked, some left the island while others hunted down the little girl. A Marine ship came by and destroyed the island. Once finished they left the island in ruins, the inhabitants dead all except for the girl.

As Dressrosa is taken over by Doflamingo, Aiko Kobayashi, a former soldier of King Riku Dold III's Army is captured by Doflamingo. Rather than killing Aiko like the rest of the soldiers in King Dold III's Army, Doflamingo makes Aiko his slave.
