Nova let out a piercing scream. She huddled herself in a damp back alleyway, her head was pounding, her heart racing. What is this? Why are there voices in her head? I sounded as if hundreds of men were whispering in her ears. They were not in sync but they were all saying the same thing over and over again.

"Stop! Make it stop!"

Snow...Snow....SNOW

"I said stop it! SHUT THE HELL UP!"

She reached for an abandoned sheet of metal and moved to swing it at the source of the whispers.

"Gyaa! Whoa watch it!"

It was Shadow.

"What on earth are you doing are you trying to get yourself killed?!"

"What am I doing? What are you doing?! You ran off I was looking for you!"

"I just...I just needed some air okay?"

"Air...Right."

He knew she was hiding something.

Nova stood up concealing the shakiness in her knees. Her hand was still clutched on the metal scrap, while the other was dusting off dirt from her suit.

"Where did you put the package? "

"It's on the hover-cycle."

"In the middle of the road?!"

"I was looking for you!"

"You don't have to look for me I told you I just needed air."

"Outside?! The same air you were breathing in a dark alley is the same air you were breathing by the hover-cycle. Except for this air isn't infested with creepers and molesters!"

Nova grit her teeth, she knew she had no reason to be so upset with him. He was just trying to make sure she was okay. She also knew walking off like without telling him wasn't the brightest idea. Why was her judgment so clouded right now?

Nova was a lot of things, snarky, sarcastic, introverted, but she was never the type to hear voices in her head. It rang out again.

"You're right." Nova snapped, "Instead I have to deal with you."

Shadow looked taken aback. Good, it's what he deserved for being so careless.

The two walked back to the hover-cycle in silence, with only the crunching sound of their boots making contact with the scrap metal and litter that scattered the ground.

Nova grew impatient.

"We should have passed it by now."

"Well, we haven't."

"Yeah. No shit I can see that, where the hell is it."

"I don't know, you're the one that parked it."

"Well, you're the one that left it and it's not here."

"No shit."

Nova shot him a glare for using her words against him. Shadow kept his eyes straight ahead paying her no mind.

"So we lost the hover-cycle? How the hell does one lose an entire hover-cycle?!"

"It gets stolen."

Realization hit her in the head like a brick. She didn't want to admit it, but Shadow was right, this was the exact location they had left the cycle. And unless it had gotten up and walked away, (which for all Nova knew, could definitely be a possibility in Icewynne) then it must have been stolen.

"And the package too? We were supposed to deliver that, and it got stolen too?!"

"It was on the hover-cycle so I guess so."

Nova went into panic mode, thoughts rushing through her mind faster than light travel.

"If the package is gone...and so is the hover-cycle then-"

She gasped.

"The hover-cycle! That has the GPS how the hell are we gonna get back to the bar?!"

Shadow thought for a moment.

"Um...we could walk." He smiled trying to lighten the mood, which only irritated Nova.

"We're stranded in the middle of the road this is no time for jokes."

"Just saying," Shadow mumbled.

Just as he was finishing his statement they heard an engine rev up and a pair of bright lights zooming straight towards them.
