Day 1: Dallas Texas, United States, The Santiana residence, The Attic, Arsen's bed 12:00 AM
"Yo Arsen you alright?"
"Huh?"
Gabriela and Joshua stared at him oddly.
"You kind of spaced out for a second there"
"What are you talking about? A second? I was gone for at least an hour."
Gabriela continued to stare while Joshua patted him on the back.
"Ay dios mío, you've finally lost your marbles, my guy."
"What do ya mean?"
Gabriela pointed to the clock.
"It's midnight dude."
This couldn't be right. Arsen blacked out at around 11:59, and it was only midnight? He glanced at his desktop screen.
Login Timeout.
No way... He thought. There's no way in hell all of that could have happened in a minute...what the hell is going on? Was he imagining things? Was all of that some kind of crazy minute long daydream?
"What about the Twitter thing huh? Autweets?"
They looked even more confused.
"Autweets?"
"That sounds stupid who would sign up for that?"
"I did! I signed up for it to promote our protest remember? And then I made up some stupid username Foreshadow_1. You told me to add the one because it was probably taken remember? Come on please tell me you remember!"
He looked at them desperately, the two stared back even more confused and slightly scared.
"Uh look" Said Gabriela cautiously, maybe you should get some rest.
"Yeah man" Chimed Joshua. "It's late and we got a big day tomorrow, I'll finish the picket signs you just head to bed."
"You guys can't be serious right? I mean I'm being one hundred percent honest right now! I was in some kind of parallel universe and everything was all technologic we all wore glowing bodysuits, and we got robbed and there was a high-speed chase and a bar and some British chick with pink hair!"
Joshua was busy packing up the markers and poster boards.
"Uhuh right, sounds like you were having a wet dream dude."
Gabriela grimaced.
"Eew, you guys are gross."
"I'm just sayin'. If I had a dream about a British chick in a skintight bodysuit, I would be all kinds of excited. Was she hot?"
Arsen looked at them dumbfounded. They were completely missing the point.
Joshua shrugged grinning and headed out the door. "Look man I'll see ya later. Tell your mom I said thanks for the food."
Gabriela trailed after him "See ya Arsen. But seriously, get some sleep alright? We need you tomorrow."
And with that, they left Arsen to sit in the spinny office chair of his makeshift room in the attic and think about what the hell just happened.
