Ryder's POV

"Ryder, what's really going on?" I want to tell her, I really do, but I just don't know how. Plus she already thinks I'm weird, if I tell her, it's not doing me any favors.

"It's okay you can tell me"

"It's my birthday" I finally say.

"Oh, and you want kibble for your birthday?"

"Yes" I say still looking at my feet to hide incoming tears.

"Okay?" She walks to the back and gives me a bag of kibble. "Wait I thought you said you could feed him. Where you lying?"

"He did feed me! Last night remember?" Chase said.

"Yes, but that wasn't dog food" I say looking up.

"Uhh, just take the stupid dog food and leave." Katie says push the food into my chest.

"Thanks" I mumble and turn to leave.

"Chase do you want a dog house?" I push open the doors for Chase and I to leave.

"Yeah Ryder sir!" He says as the door closes.

"I think I have just enough wood in the garage."

"Ryder I'm cold"

"Me too bud, just wait we're almost home." We walk a few more yards and he stops.

"Come on Chase, I want to get home."

"Wait I smell something" he smells around until his fur sticks straight up like a frightened cat. "I can smell you!" He shouts.

"Chase keep it down!" I say.

"Don't you dare come close to Ryder and l you fleabag!" He shouts again. I scoop up Chase and start running home with him in one arm and food in the other. I run up my driveway which is not an easy task with a barking dog. My sliding doors open and once I'm inside I practically throw him on the floor.

"Sit here and calm down and when your ready food will be waiting for you upstairs." I really hate doing this to him but it's the only way he'll learn. I go up the elevator and put kibble in the cereal bowl I used for him yesterday and wait in a bean bag for him to come up. He comes up five minutes later and sits next to me.

"Are you clam now?" I ask the little pup.

"Yeah I think so." He replays "I just really hate this Dalmatian, Marshall." He pauses. "Our parents hate, or at least used to hate each other. He's about 5 mounts younger than me and he used to follow me around everywhere. That was annoying but the worst was when he asked out the girl he knew I liked. I just don't want him to do it to you."

"Chase, no pup or human could ever get between us. Your my pup!" He starts eating his breakfast happily. Poor Marshall, I wonder where he is now. My pup pad beeps and I go to check who it is.

Katie's POV

"Come on Skye, we got to take you home." I say annoyed that the young cockapoo won't listen to me.

"Can't I just stay one more day?"

"You've already stayed a week don't you think that's enough?"

"Why do you think I ran away from that beast?!" She yelps at me.

"Oh come on he can't be that bad, he's still your owner!" I say.

"It was the old lady who was the nice one! But she's gone now and the scary man barely remembers to feed me!" I didn't want to take the poor thing home, but I had orders. I finally just picked her up and started walking to the address. At first see was squirming but after a few minutes she gave up. My pup pad rang but I couldn't check it because holding Skye is a two hand job.

I made it to the house just before it started to drizzle. "This is the place?" I ask her.

"Sadly" She said.

"Oh come on, Skye! Cheer up! Your home." I assure the pup.

"I hate home." She mumbles. I knock on the door and no one answers.

"He's defiantly home, both of the cars are here." She says. I knock again this time a little louder.

"Get out of here! I don't want your cookies!" A man shouts.

"Sir I have your dog." I shout in reply.

"Did you see any posters that said I want her back?! No, you didn't, because I don't want her! I was happy when she ran away!" Skye starts to wimpier.

"It's okay Skye, I'll help find you a good home" I turn and start walking when the rain and wind started to get more intense.

And then I saw it.
