Weeks later, Christopher thought to have a talk with his daughter. She had locked herself up in her chambers and spoke to no one. Even though she told no one of her suffering, Christopher knew what had happened, in fact he had forseen it before it actually happened, but he could not stop it, so he told no one. Christopher knew that fate had to run it's course.
Everyone knew there was trouble in paradise when they saw the bride come home without her groom, but they dared not ask any questions. It was whispered that the Brodie family was cursed, and that they had to suffer to find love, and they wondered what could have happened to rip this lovely couple apart.
To watch his precious daughter lock herqself in her room and suffer like this, was hard for Christopher, and the decision to go and have a talk with her was one that weighed heavy on his mind, but he will not let another day go by, and have his daughter suffer in this way.
With a heavy heart, he opened the door to her chambers and walked in. Zina was sitting by the large window, with her back to him. It was reported to him by the servants that she has not eaten, nor has she slept, for the two whole weeks that she has been back.
Christopher pulled a chair next to her, and sat down, and tried to think of the best way to approach his child about her marraige.
"He did it, because he loved you desperately, and now he is being punished for it." He said, right to the point.
Zina stayed silent.
"I know his heart, and he is torturing himself, because he blames himself for loosing you. Zina, he had no choice in the matter, I would have done the same if it were me." Her father told her. "My father had a similar fate, Tatiana and my father slept together, it was my fathers way of keeping his family safe. To this day, no one understands the sacrifice my father made because he loved my mother so much, but because i know the heart of people, I know that my father suffered a thousand deaths when he touched Tatiana, and Gabriel now had the same fate as he. Do not waste another second away from him. Go claim your place next to your husband. Tell him how you still love him, or he will die from pain Zina."
"Fay's don't die!" She said softly.
"His heart is about to break, and once it does he's as good as dead. Once he crosses that line of heartbreak, he will,no longer be the Gabriel you once knew, you will not be able to recognize him. Do not allow for that to happen, Gabriel is a good man, and he lives for the sole purpose to love you, but if he crosses to the danger zone, he will not know the love he had for you, it will disappear along with all his hopes and dreams, and it will be too late for you to find it again. Once it's gone Zina, you won't get it back. The Fay's lose their memory when they reach that point, and the slate is clean and they start over, you will be a stranger to him! Don't let that happen, because you will regret it for the rest of your life if you do!" He warned her.
"I can not forgive him! I can not erase the memory of my husband making love to Ariana! The imprints are stamped in my heart forever! I will not go back to him, it hurts too much!" She cried.
Christopher warned her one more time, "You do understand my words don't you, I said that he is at the breaking point. He is not able to hold on to the pain anymore, and once he let's go, he will live his life without you, because he will not remember ever again your life together. Are you willing to lose him forever, because his brain will be cleaned in a matter of a few hours, a Fay's brain cleans it's slate when the pressure is tremendous, and they start over. His memory will be wiped out! Do not let that happen Zina, go to him now and save him!"
"No, I will not!" She yelled.
Christopher took an inhalation of breath, and lifted his body off the chair and walked to the door, he knew the outcome, but wanted to tell Zina anyway, in case she chose to change her fate, there was always a way to do that, free will is a gift to everyone, but not many souls new how to change it. He knew his daughter was stubborn, and will not help Gabriel, but he also knew that it will cost her big time. He swung the door open and walked out, as a single tear glided down his handsome chiseled face. He knew that Zina was about to go through the trial of her life, and the pain will be unbearable for her, but she chose this, and therefor she must endure it.
