So, I was looking at videos that compared Momo's voice from during SIXTEEN/debut era and now, and I had a theory on why the sudden change in concept.
SIXTEEN and LIKE OOH-AHH's concept were for JYP's cancelled girl group

So, if you are a JYP stan, or just somehow stumbled upon the info, there had allegedly (?) been a new JYP girl group in the making before Sixteen happened, and members were speculated. They were:
Nayeon Jungyeon Sana Jihyo Minyoung Lena Cecilia (I think a replacement for Lena??)
But Lena and Cecilia left JYP before 6mix could debut, therefore leaving JYP to go down the route of a survival show. Sources say that they were asked to leave due to a serious problem but I really have no idea.
If 6mix was real and supposed to debut, then JYP's writers and composers and producers would have songs written with demos and ready to be recorded for the group. And after 6mix lost two members, maybe they had those songs left over and decided "wow, we should use it for SIXTEEN :)".

I honestly have no idea where the songs came from, and if this is true, but let me live, okay?
Then, after TWICE was announced, they used the rest of 6mix's songs while changing it more into slightly cuter songs, as the two groups are completely different and JYP saw Twice as a cuter group. Honestly, I thought 6mix would have a bad girl concept. I mean, look at them!

JYP could've easily put 6mix's concept on TWICE, but when he saw that "cute sells" he completely threw away the concept and turned cute with Cheer Up.
