I Think I Can Manage It

Over the course of the next two weeks, Director Fury had many geniuses in different fields of science and math come in and ask Jasmine different questions.

She passed all of the mini tests with flying colors.

The once shy and quiet girl, turned into a talkative, laughing, and smiling girl in the matter of two weeks.

Her eyes gave away her emotions, much to everyone's surprise.

They were the catlike pupils and dark green when she was scared or worried of her surroundings.

Her eyes changed to dark blue when she was calm and to a beautiful rainbow mix of colors when she was happy and smiling.

Jasmine was currently with the Avengers and X-Men in one of the living room type rooms of the Helicarrier.

Everyone had started calling her Jazz, a name given to her by Tony.

"The X-Men and Avengers are to report to the conference room number 4-A with Jasmine." Fury's voice was heard over the intercom.

"Come on, Jazz." Kitty hopped up. She had become close friends with Jasmine.

"I'm coming." Jasmine smiled and followed the large group to the conference room.

Jasmine sat in a seat between Logan and Kitty. She rocked herself lightly back and forth in the chair.

"We're landing the Helicarrier on the ocean. Romanoff, Barton, and Rogers, go to the HQ with Hill...." As Fury gave orders for everyone, Jasmine's eyes moved around to each face in the room.

Her rainbow colored eyes rested on Logan, who looked back to her after he realized she was looking at him.

He flashed a faint smile, making Jasmine blush a little and look away.

"Dismissed." Fury clapped his hands together.

"Come on, Jasmine." Storm, Kitty, Banner, and Logan made their ways to the HQ, where all the computers and the other agents of SHIELD were.

Jasmine was okay with so many people, but her rainbow eyes turned to the dark green, catlike eyes.

"It's okay, Jazz." Banner noticed her change in eyes.

"I know." She nodded with a smile, not realizing her eyes had changed.

As the Helicarrier landed on the water, Jasmine walked out to the loading dock, where Natasha was ordering agents around.

"Hey, Jasmine." She smiled when she saw Jazz walk over towards the edge of the carrier.

"Hi." Jasmine smiled and waved her fingers a little, her eyes shifting to the dark blue version, meaning she was calm. Every one of the Avengers or X-Men stopped what they were doing and watched Jasmine as she knelt down by the water.

She ran her hands through the icy cold water, then brought her hand back up, only to see that there was a trail of water drops lingering in the air.

"How did you do that, Jasmine?" Rogers asked.

"I-I don't know." Jasmine immediately brought her hand back to her chest and the water dropped. "I'm sorry-"

"Don't be, Jasmine." Xavier rolled out of the Carrier with Fury beside him.

Jasmine smiled a little when she saw Xavier.

"That was one of your mutations." Fury nodded, he had just gotten done having a talk with Xavier about Jasmine's abilities.

Jasmine looked back down to he water and furrowed her blonde eyebrows together. She was confused.

"What do you know, Professor?" Natasha asked as she stood beside Xavier and Fury, crossing her arms.

"Well with what I just saw with my eyes, I'd say that either water manipulation is her mutation, or she can control all of the elements. She just hasn't realized it yet." Xavier said, watching as Jasmine played with the water. Then he read Fury's mind. "Don't force her to control any elements, director. It could damage her. Let her figure things out on her own." Fury sighed, agitated with the way Xavier could read minds.

Jasmine played on the edge of the Helicarrier until it started to become dark outside. All Avengers and most of the X-Men had gone inside of the Carrier, Logan and Storm were the only ones to remain on the deck with Jasmine.

"Why are you so interested in her, Logan?" Storm asked softly.

"What do you mean?" Logan asked, glancing over to Storm.

"You normally don't care about anyone or anything, unless someone's in danger and rarely. What's different about this girl?" Storm asked, keeping her eyes on Jasmine.

"She's been through a lot, Storm. Anyone could see it and not just with her body language. If you look deep enough or even long enough into her eyes, any shade of color, they'll show you that she's been through more than I have." Logan muttered, crossing his arms.

"You're a good guy, Logan." Storm patted Logan's shoulder. "Come on, Jasmine. It's getting late." Storm looked back to Jasmine.

"Coming!" Jasmine stood up and let the water go into the ocean. She followed the two X-Men into the Helicarrier. "I'll see you guys later."

"Can you find your room by yourself?" Logan asked.

"I think I can manage it." Jasmine nodded with a smile.
