"Your Honor, I'd like to call someone in to shed some light on this situation." Louis says and Nissa's lawyer goes to argue but the judge holds her hand up."I'll allow it, Mrs. White you may take a seat." She states as Harry rubs my arm.
"Baby you're shaking." He whispers, the courtroom doors open and Rebeca walks in wearing a black pantsuit with her straight hair back in a ponytail. My dad's face pales as she walks by him and I notice Xander follow her in and sit in the back row on our side.
"What the hell is going on Harry?" I whisper as he looks around as lost as I am.
"I don't know but I trust Louis." He replies before kissing my temple.
"Please state your name for the court."
"Rebeca Johnson." She replies and I notice Nissa glaring at her.
"Is that your real name Miss Johnson?" Louis asks and she shakes her head, "Please state your birth name."
"Anissa Grace Caldwell" She says softly, I turn around and look at my father who's lips are parted in surprise.
"Funny, there's another woman in this room who claims that's her birth name as well. Can you explain?"
"I met Rebeca when I was young, I believe I was 15 at the time and had been dating an older man for about a year. He thought I was 17 when I fell pregnant but I wasn't. I worked hard and graduated high school early to make my lie fit but Rebeca knew the truth. She was always jealous of me, I was taller, she thought I was prettier.... I got the man she had wanted for years. She got pregnant before me and had a boy, when I delivered a girl it was just one more thing she wanted that I had." She pauses to gather herself and my eyes widen as I look more closely at her.
"She invited me out for a girls night after my daughter was born, we were driving out to Ft. Lauderdale for the evening when she picked a fight with me, she was sick of how I got everything she wanted. I got the good, kind man that loved me fiercely and the beautiful daughter. The angrier she got the more erratic her driving became until she crashed us into a tree, I was unconscious when she switched our ID's. We looked similar enough that at first glance you wouldn't notice, she had suffered some damage to her face and had plastic surgery to make herself look more like me while my nose was broken slightly altering my looks." She goes on, Louis walks over and pours her a glass of water. She thanks him and takes a sip before continuing.
"She told me that if I didn't go along with it, she would kill my husband and daughter. She wanted what I had so badly that she would write out exactly how she was going to strangle my husband and drown my daughter. I was a scared teenager so I went along with it, took her son and ran. I spent the next fourteen years raising a son that wasn't mine regretting every single day that I left, I couldn't take it anymore so I sent him to his father's sister. That's when I came back but I laid low, I was able to see every single one of my daughter's recitals and watch as my husband brought her flowers. But I wasn't watching as her mother, I was watching as a stranger." She says softly as tears being to pour from her eyes, Harry hands me his handkerchief and I realize that I too am crying.
"Rebeca Johnson took everything from me, I never got to see my baby's first steps, hear her first laugh. I never got to do her hair for prom or see her on her wedding day." She sobs as the woman formally known as Nissa stands up.
"She's lying! They're paying her to say this!" She shouts and Louis chuckles as he holds the envelope with the DNA up.
"I told you I ran a DNA test on everyone Mrs. White, Now Rebeca Johnson gave birth to two sons. Xander Evans who was given up at birth and Jaxon White..... So, Mrs. White, would you like to explain how you and your husband are related?" He asks as he hands the paper to the judge.
"It says here that Mrs. White is Mr. White's..... Mother?"
