Part 10

I sat down on the roof of Beacon and closed my eyes, meditation was a part of my daily training in prison and I never neglected to do it. After all, I didn't just train my body, I also strengthened my mind as well.

I sat there motionless, listening to the wind, and cleared my head. All my thoughts were gone, I just focused on my senses. In doing so I noticed that I wasn't alone, someone was behind me but I could tell that they ment no harm.

As dawn came I felt the sun shine on my face. Slowly I got up and turned towards the person.

"I didn't expect to see you here Ren."

He looked at me and shrugged, "You're not the only one who likes to meditate in this school."

"Well, the body is only as strong as the mind, as such I exercise both."

He nodded, "An admirable thought."

I stretched and cracked my neck, I looked at my watch and then at him.

"Almost time for the others to wake up, shall we go?"

He nodded and got up, we both began heading towards our respective rooms. I waved goodbye before entering and changing into my uniform.

"Allright, looks like I have Port's class first thing today, time to bring something."

I pulled out a book of the different types of Grimm and tucked it under my arm before heading towards the classroom, as I passed team JNPR's room I heard Nora asking for pancakes and Ren asking her to wait.

Guy's got his work cut out for him I thought as I remembered the enormous amount of pancakes that Nora ate when I bought her lunch the other day.

I walked into the classroom and sat down, as the other students arived I leaned back and yawned. Knowing that I would probably be asleep in the class I took out the book and started reading right as Professor Port began his lecture.

(Time skip because I am not writing about Port's class. I'd fall asleep myself.)

As the bell rang I closed the book and headed towards Professor Oobleck's class, I felt relieved knowing that it would be lunch soon. Not because I was hungry but because I felt that most of these were rather pointless for me, in prison I didn't just train I also learned as much as I could. I educated myself in escapollogy, combat strategy, medical techniques as well as several different languages.

I had the kind of education that would take most folks several years and a lot of money to get, but all I needed was patience and determination.

The only class that I looked forward to was combat class, there were so many students each with their own weapons and style of fighting. It was a new experience every time, and of course I took any chance I could get to beat up team CRDL in the arena.

Time seemed to speed up and before I knew it the bell rang, I got up and went towards the cafeteria. While I wasn't a light eater I did try to eat healthy and so I ordered two sandwiches with ham cheese and tomatoes.

As I sat down to eat I saw team RWBY as well as team JNPR come over, they all sat beside me and began talking about various subjects. I just sat there, half listening, and began eating. As I finished I heard my name being called.

"Hello Bane? Are you there?"

I shook my head and looked at the person who was talking, Ruby was giving me an odd look as she waited for my reply.

"Sorry I was lost in thought, could you repeat that one more time?"

She sighed, "Well me and blake were going into town and we were wondering if you'd like to join us?"
