I was going to spend my time with the Forman's for Thanksgiving week because my family went off on a trip. I didn't really want to go with them because I would be gone for a week or two. I just wanna be with my friends.

Well, sleeping in Laurie's room has been great, but she's having a friend over during her Thanksgiving break. Kitty and Red said that while Laurie and her friend was over, I would sleep in the basement. Eric had to also so I was kicking him on the floor.

We were currently waiting on Laurie and her friend at a bus stop. My feet were numb and my hands were as well. Actually, my whole body was numb.

"Laurie's bus isn't here yet," Eric said, walking out of the station, "Dad, can we get in the car and turn on the heat? I'm freezing."

I vigorously nodded my head, agreeing with Eric. If only Hyde were here to keep me warm... oops, did I say that?

"I'm not wasting gas for you or your friend to be comfortable." Red says harshly as Kitty shivers and I do too.

"Well, can we at least go wait inside?" I ask, rubbing my arms for warmth.

It was always typical in Wisconsin to be cold at this time of year, but never usually this cold. December is brutal!

"I'm not going in that bus station with those people. Sorry, hun." Kitty shrugs.

"God, I'm freezing!" Eric and I exclaim.

"Oh, Eric, I forgot to tell you, you're sister is bringing a friend home, so you'll be sleeping in the basement. You will too, Penny." Kitty shivers as I frown.

"The basement? They should sleep in Laurie's room!" Eric complains.

"You're sleeping on the floor, Eric." I stuck my tongue out at Eric and he chuckled.

"Oh, and Red, I've been thinking. Maybe this Thanksgiving we should skip the big turkey. Small ones are on sale at the Piggly Wiggly." Kitty says as I roll my eyes.

"This family doesn't scrimp on holidays. Can you imagine my mother sitting down to a chicken?" Red says.

"Red, your mother won't eat my cooking anyways, so what's the problem?" Kitty sighs.

"Ahh, I'm so freaking cold." I shiver even more.

"I would give you my coat but if I do, I might die from hypothermia." Eric says.

"Aw, thanks." I smile sarcastically.

"But dad, they should sleep in the basement!" Eric whines.

"Red, last Thanksgiving she said her jaw wasn't strong enough to chew the turkey. And that was a magnificent turkey!" Kitty complains. Wow, Eric's grandma must be harsh.

"Dad, it's my room!" Eric yells.

They both complain for about 0.2 seconds until Red snaps, "Alright, that's it! Hold it. Now, Kitty, don't get worked up over my mother. And you, you're sleeping in the basement! And we're all having a happy damn Thanksgiving!"
