I nervously walk down the familiar stairs with Donna and Eric and I see 3 other teens, sitting in the old, musty smelling, basement. It kinda smelled like drugs too. I never expected our innocent little friend group to get into drugs.
"Hey guys!" Eric exclaims.
I awkwardly wave.
"Woah! She's smoking!" Someone says. I wasn't paying attention to whom it was.
A small, black haired girl hit the guy next to her, which I was assuming who said I was 'smoking'.
"Damn, Jackie!" The boy yelled, holding his hurt arm.
"Hi, I'm Penny, some of you may recognize me." I smile and slowly walk towards the dryer.
"Penny came back from California!" Eric exclaimed.
"Penny?" A curly haired boy asked and it had to be Steven Hyde.
"I'm Kelso- Wait.... Penny?" The boy who got punched earlier said.
I gasped, "Kelso! Oh my god what have they done to my smart Kelso?"
"I'm Jackie, and get away from my boyfriend." The snotty, black haired girl said.
"Alright. She must be new because I don't know her." I chuckled lightly.
"Yeah, that's Kelso's new girlfriend." Eric said.
"I'm not new. I've been dating Michael for a month!" Jackie exclaimed as I lightly chuckled.
"Oh, and how could I forget Steven?" I smiled as I walked over by Hyde.
"Long time, no see, Martins." Hyde gave me a small smile.
I'm not gonna lie, Hyde was my first ever crush as a young child. Hyde had shut me down at the young age of 5. He said he was no good for him and he appeared to be no good for me still.
"You broke my 5-year-old heart long ago." I chuckled as I pulled a folding chair from the side and set it up next to Hyde.
"You were a little goody two shoes, Penny. There was no way you could've kept up with me." Hyde chuckled as I did too.
"Cmon, we were only 5, Hyde." I laughed.
"Even at 5 years old, I was the bad guy. My little self wasn't gonna let others make fun of you." Hyde smiled lightly.
"Oh, but being 5 was so serious." I joked.
"Ohh, definitely."

"Well, I should probably get home. I haven't talked to my mom in a long time." I sigh.
"Okay, see you at school tomorrow, Penny?" Eric asks.
"Um, yeah." I smile.
"It was good seeing you again." Hyde waves.
"Yeah, it was great seeing all of you again. Goodnight." I say and walk out of the Forman's basement door.
I walk onto the sidewalk and walk to my front door, "I'm home!"
"So, did all your old friends recognize you?" My mom asked.
"Yeah. It's kinda strange seeing us all grown up after these 10 long years I've been gone." I shrugged as I yawned slightly.
"Well, you've had a busy day, huh? You should get some sleep, Pen." My mom says as she continues to wash the dishes
"That sounds good right about now. Goodnight, Mom." I said as I made my way up the stairs.
"Goodnight, baby." My mom said lightly as I continued to walk up the stairs.
I got to my room and closed my door behind me. I realized I should've already been in bed because it was 10 pm. I changed into some sweats and sweatshirt for bed. I fell asleep as soon as I made contact with my bed.

"Penny! Get up!" My mom yells.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm up." I groan, throw my blankets off of me and remind myself that it was Friday today.
Also known as my "first" day.
I walk into my bathroom and take a quick shower. I then get into a pair of dark wash bell bottoms and a red t-shirt. I go downstairs and eat breakfast and wait for my hair to dry. When it does dry, it will turn into its natural waviness.
"Do you need me to give you a ride to school?" My dad asks as I fix up some of my hair.
"Um, no. I'll walk. Thanks though." I smile and grab my backpack.
I swing the heavy object over my shoulder and walk out the front door. I have about 30 minutes to get to school and it will take me roughly 20 minutes to walk there. If I calculated it correctly.
I hear a honk from a car behind me and I look behind me. It was an old Vista Cruiser that was slowly collecting rust. Eric, Donna, Hyde, and Kelso were all in the car.
"Hey, Martins, wanna ride?" Donna yells through the passenger window.
"Sure!" I smile and climb in the backseat by Hyde and Kelso.
"Nice shirt." Hyde smiles.
"Thanks." I smiled back as I set my backpack on the floor of the car.
We get to school in less than 10 minutes, which leaves me with about 20 minutes to get everything I need. I walk up to my locker, number 630 and I notice that Hyde's locker is five away from mine and Donna is my locker neighbor at 629. Our lockers are near the end, where apparently no teachers are at. Hyde says it's good because he keeps a secret 6 pack of beer in his locker.
"So, what class do you have first?" Donna asks.
"Um, let me see... I have English." I smiled.
I've always loved English class because I happen to love writing poetry. Or just writing in general. If anyone ever found my journal, I would probably kill them.
"Hey! Me too! We should sit by each other!" Donna exclaims.
"Yay! Oh my god! I would sit by you guys, but I'm gonna skip it because it's stupid!" Hyde says in a fake peppy voice, showing many layers of sarcasm.
"Why? Don't you want to get good grades?" I ask, grabbing my English notebook.
"Eh, it's not important to me. I mean, I already know English, what's the point of going then?" Hyde asks, leaning against my locker door.
"Well, it should be important because you want to get out of this school, right?" I ask as I face Hyde.
"Well, yeah, I guess. I'll go to English with you guys then." Hyde shrugs.
"Watch out, Point Place, Hyde's going to class!" Donna cheers and jumps up and down.
