I'm actually tagging @SonicBoomAutumn2020 in this since it was her post in her artbook that informed me about this in the first place so yeah, kudos to you.

Let me say this, I do not know much about the situation. I am writing this knowing as little as possible about the actual problem at hand so bear with me. I may or may not be correct in y next statements so any further corrections would be very nice and appreciated.

Excuse me but there will be a lot of bias here because I only got to scope one side of the situation, m'kay?

It was this afternoon on my timezone that (referencing from Silver's ✨ My ArT ✨ - RECOLORING (Important A/N) book) CheekySilver made a post about recoloring and how annoyed she felt as Ultimate_Sontails and Dashy-the-Hedgehog didnt react to her comments the same way she expected them too. Silver stated that she felt injustice as SonTails and Dashy (yes I'll call them that for the rest of the chapter) I quote "blew everything out of proportion".

And I understand. I know how it feels to feel like being attacked after expecting a civilized conversation. It doesnt feel right to be mistreated after expecting so much from the opposing side of the story.

Now what I do feel was unnecessary was the overreaction to the insults. I know anyone would feel offended after being blocked and called a bully but thats a weekly thing for me anyway so no biggie.

Silver also commented on how she did not care about the outcome as long as message was sent and understood and her heart seemed to be in the right place. Of course it was hard to read that over the yelling and ranting but yes, understood. 

I am an advocate against recoloring (literally credits and rants about it for a living) so you know which side I'll take on this. It is not right to recoloring over an existing art piece in the most lazy manner, destroying all redeeming qualities and calling it your own, even though the art has a watermark.

I was honestly not expecting much when I decided to scope out the situation myself. CheekySilver's rant was straightforward and rather blunt of how angry she was at the reception that SonTails and Dashy gave her and I don't blame her for it. But knowing I came too late, I saw the problem differently.

Now, let me point out something quickly. Both CheekySilver and Ultimate_Sontails blocked me prior to this situation. But it was only today that I realized that Sontails unblocked me and I was able to comment on her book where she complained about Silver's comments.

I only got to contact Sontails because I cant talk to people who blocked me.

Sontails was pretty passive about the situation when I first came in. From how she replied to me, she didn't like the idea of her own recolors being brought up in questions because she abandoned the idea. We didn't get to talk about Dashy at first but we'll get to that. She only wanted to get very with the situation because she knows the idea is bad (at the time of our conversation and only wanted to defend a friend).

At first I was skeptical because while its understandable that she wanted to help a friend, recoloring has no shields or defences so its easy to break down. There is no reason to recolor because its lazy and bad, we established that.

Its easy to interpret that they believed Silver's words were harassments because they didnt like the idea of being called out and thats realistic, but its not exactly a durable reason for anything.
