(This is a sequel to Beth's imagine)

Tara

You had arrived in a town called Alexandria a few weeks ago. It managed to lighten everyone's spirit, to have a safe place to stay. Except yours.

You were still hurting because of Beth. She was your girlfriend, your loved one. And now she was gone. Just like that.

Daryl was devastated in the beginning too. You and him comforted each other, just like you did when your brother, Merle, had died. Daryl took it hard, but managed to move on. You could not, at least not yet. She was your girlfriend after all.

Someone else that was helping you move on was Tara. She was very caring and helpful. She was helping you move on, taking baby steps along with you.

Recently you started feeling weird around her. Your heart beating increased when you were in her presence and your palms would get sweaty. You started stuttering and couldn't from complete phrases properly. It almost felt like... when you first developed a crush on Beth...

No, no... this couldn't go any longer. You loved Beth and only Beth. You promised yourself, when you first started dating to never love anyone else... But you had never actually thought of the possibility of her, well, dying.

"Hey, (Y/N)." you hear the girl who had been tormenting your mind say, snapping you out of your thoughts.

"Hey." you muttered and left the room.

You had been avoiding her since you started crushing on her, with the excuse that maybe those feelings would go away eventually. But they weren't.

You decided to stay on guard duty until later, having to interact only with Eugene. Even though he had lied you liked him. He was awkwardly cute, and very intelligent.

When you went home you passed the medical house, that was in the way. There you saw Tara and Denise sitting on the porch. Probably laughing at some lame joke Tara had told. You felt your inside turn and your blood boil.

You quickly left, thinking about this new feeling. What was it? This sudden anger?

The same situation repeated itself for a couple of weeks, everyday. On the second week you realized that feeling was jealousy.

"Hey." you heard her say as she entered your room in the house you shared "Want to watch a movie? Your brother just came back from a run and he found a collection of Disney DVD's. We could do a movie marathon...?"

"No, thanks..." you answered, not taking the eyes of the book you were reading, although you had been stuck on the same paragraph for the last ten minutes.

"Why not? I remember you telling me that you loved The Lion King."

"Why don't you go watch it with your girlfriend?!" yo snapped, forcefully slamming your book shut.

"What?"

"Why don't you go hand out with Denise like you have been for the past two weeks?"

"You- you think me and Denise are... dating?"

You nodded, feeling tears in your eyes.

"Me and Denise are not dating. Sure, I know she's been hitting on me, but I already told her I don't like her like that and we're-" she stopped her rambling suddenly "wait, are you jealous?"

Tears stared slowly falling.

"I-I... I don't know. I-I think I like you but... I feel like I would be betraying-"

"Beth." she finished with you "Wanna know  what I think? I think she would have wanted you to move on. Not to forget her, not completely, but try and be happy without her. I didn't know her, but that's what I would want. And... I like you too, you know. I've just been hanging out with Denise because you have been shutting me out. Pushing me away. I'm sorry."

You nodded and let her wipe your tears with her thumbs. She planted a simple kiss on your lips.

"We'll take slowly, okay? Baby steps."

You pecked her quickly in the lips.

"Baby steps."
