Your POV
"Oooooohhh, Y/NNNNN," I heard my best friend yelling in a sing song tone.
I groaned and rolled over, burying my face further into a pillow as I heard my door swing open and footsteps approach the bed.
"Y/n, I really don't want to have to physically drag your ass out of bed, so you should probably get up," he tried to persuade me before he would take action.
"What time is it?" I asked with my face still buried in the pillow.
"It's 8:00. Let's go get some breakfast and then we'll kill time until we have to meet Simon at twelve," he said and I very quickly remembered what today was.
"I'll be out in twenty," I said, rolling out of bed and pushing him out of my room before closing the door.
I very freshened up and got dressed before grabbing my phone, wallet, and sunglasses.
As soon as I stepped out of my bedroom and looked out of the glass door leading to the balcony, I was mesmerized. The only thing I could think was that this was such a fitting start to a day I knew would be great.
I was quickly broken from my thoughts when I heard my best friend behind me.
"Uber's outside. You ready?"
"Beyond ready," I answered.
Twenty minutes later we hopped out of the uber and thanked the driver before walking into one of the few small diners I know of around here.
Restaurants around here usually try to bring in customers by appearing flashy and modern, but this place felt more homey and I loved the vibe it gave off.
Once we finished eating, we paid for our food and checked the time. We still had two hours before we had to be in LA to meet Simon.
We decided to walk around for a little while and explore the little shops. Soon enough, it was almost noon and we started making our way to the Sony Music Production Facility.
We walked in and were immediately greeted by a petite, blonde woman at the front desk.
She asked for our names and who we were there to meet. I let Y/b/f do all the talking because after all he was technically my manager, and to be quite honest I didn't trust my voice right now.
I was more nervous than I would like to admit.
"Y/n Y/ln. We're here to meet with Simon," he told the woman.
"Let me call in to see if he's waiting on you guys," the woman replied with a smile.
I gave Y/b/f a look that obviously showed how nervous I was and he patted me on the back as an attempt to comfort me.
The woman made her call and after a brief conversation, hung up the phone.
"He's waiting on you two. You can go on up the elevator to floor three. Once you get up to the third floor there will be someone to take you to where you need to be," the woman told us.
"Thank you," Y/b/f and I said simultaneously.
We made our way to the elevator and pressed the button that would take us to the man of the hour.
As promised, when the elevator doors parted there was a man waiting to take us to Simon.
After exchanging greetings he turned on his heels and began walking to, what we assumed was, Simon's office.
After the man knocked we heard a very faint, and very British, "Come in!"
He opened the door, stepping to the side and allowing us to enter as the one and only Simon Cowell stood from his desk to greet us with a smile.
The other man soon left, closing the door on his way out and leaving us to discuss what we needed with Simon.
"It's very nice to meet you Y/n, and I assume you're a close friend," he addressed Y/b/f.
"This is my best friend, and manager, Y/b/f. He's the one that got back to you on the email," I answered the question for him.
Simon gave me a smile and from there we got right into it.
He talked how he sees potential in me and my future as an artist, and told me everything I needed to know to be reassured that I would be making a good decision by choosing his label.
I told Simon how picky I have been in the past with record labels and he explained every last bit of how my contract would be structured.
After he was finished I was definitely reassured that if I was ever going to take this step in my career, this would be the best way to do it.
Simon explained to me that he would have someone come in and read my contract to me and my friend to make sure I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. He told me if I felt even slightly off about one of the guidelines to say something.
The next hour was spent discussing the contract and explaining how everything would work.
I knew that this would be more professional than how label meetings had been in the past but goddamn, Simon knew how to win someone over. He made sure we were absolutely comfortable with every last guideline.
After we were done discussing the contract I was already sold, but Simon insisted I take a copy home and go over it one last time to make sure I wanted to go through with it.
I thanked him for making sure we were comfortable with this and I made sure he knew how much we appreciated everything before we made our way out of the building to head home.
I already knew my decision, but I actually did go over the contract again that night, but it wasn't to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into. I went over it to make sure this wasn't some sick joke.
I seriously could not believe what was happening.
After what felt like forever of me just staring at the ceiling with a stupid smile on my face, I finally let sleep overtake me.
