Almost three years had passed since the day Prince So left that palace and Hae Soo was enduring the long wait through Baek-Ah's letter. But for the past three months, Woo Hee had not visited the Damiwon and Hae Soo was starting to get anxious and it was worsening with the passing of days.
It was seriously distracting her from work. She was finding it hard to focus that she needed to take a breather from time to time, like that day, she was too distracted that she needed to see Lake Dongji and recharged there.
She reminded herself to patiently wait and to never lose hope.
I will wait... I will wait... I will wait...
She sighed then asked out loud, "When will you return, Prince So? When will I see you again?"
"Court Lady! Court Lady!" Chae Ryung excitedly screamed while running to her direction.
"I told you not to run," Hae Soo said but Chae Ryung seemed unafraid or even bothered by her warning. She was just smiling happily at Hae Soo.
"You are an upper court lady now. You should be dignified," she reminded Chae Ryung whom she promoted only a year ago.
"Get going now," Chae Ryung said, confusing Hae Soo. "Someone you'll be happy to see is here!"
"Happy to see?"
Chae Ryung nodded then said, "It's been almost three years since the last time he's been here, so you will be very happy."
It took a while before she absorbed what Chae Ryung had said and her heart skipped a beat.
Prince So?
She quickly ran back to the Damiwon, filled with anticipation. But she was greatly disappointed when it was Prince Jung that she had seen there. He seemed to have matured wearing armor.
She covered up her disappointment with a smile and walked closer to Prince Jung. She greeted him with a low bow.
Prince Jung looked away from the window and stared at her.
"It has been a long time," Prince Jung said, smiling at her.
"It has been a long time," Hae Soo agreed. "I will prepare tea for you, Prince Jung. Take a seat first."
Prince Jung nodded and waited for her return.

"Take a seat," he said after she had served him tea. "I came two days earlier on my own so that I could drink this tea... but... I had to drop by at Eun's grave so I was a little delayed."
"I'm glad that you did," Hae Soo said also wanting to visit Eun and Soon Deok's grave but it was outside the palace so she could not go.
"I showed off to my sister-in-law too," Prince Jung proudly continued. "I've done a lot, more than she had ever done as a soldier."
"You are a grand general now. You really should surpass what she did. And I know that Lady Soon Deok is happy for all the accomplishments you achieved. I know that Eun is also happy for you."
"I was worried that you had already left the palace while I am away," Prince Jung said, suddenly staring at her with deep concern.
"Where would I go?" Hae Soo asked, forcing a smile.
