Wang So thought that he was hallucinating when he had seen Hae Soo walking inside Cheondeokjeon but she suddenly heard her say, "Gosh, where's the toilet?"

The Hae Soo in his imagination would not act and speak like that. Only the real Hae Soo could say weird things like that and amuse him.

"I was so nervous in there. My kidney is killing me," she said looking around. "Where is the toilet? Where? Where is it? Where is it?"

Wang So followed Hae Soo in silence and he stifled a laugh when her gaze rested on a tree.

Will she really use that tree as a toilet?

She was about to run into that tree when Wang So decided to stop her by putting his arm around her shoulders.

Hae Soo did stop and looked at him, bewildered.

He pulled her by her collar and made her face him before taking his hand off her.

"Oh wow..." Hae Soo said looking at him from head to foot. "Wow."

Wang So was uncomfortable with her stare but he tried his best not to show it by asking her, "What are you doing here? This is no place for you."

But Hae Soo was not listening. She was still marveling at his appearance.

"You've become a completely different person," she said, brightly smiling at him. "Now anyone would know that you are a prince."

"Everyone in the palace already knows that I am a prince," Wang So said and Hae Soo only nodded. "What are you doing here?" he asked, leaning closer to Hae Soo that their faces were only a foot apart but this time Hae Soo was not intimidated and did not lean her face away.

Up to that moment, Wang So was still finding it hard to believe that she was not scared of him. She was even making faces in front of him.

"I had a gift for the Queens so Prince Wook took me with him," Hae Soo said still looking at Wang So with a happy smile. "Are you doing well in this place?"

"Of course," he lied.

"That's good to hear," Hae Soo said looking around them with astonishment. "This place is excessively big for a home. Do you even get to see you parents every day?"

Wang So was silenced with that question. She was right. He was permitted to stay in the palace and get to join important gatherings but aside from that, nothing much had changed. They see each other at times but they never talked to each other like what he and Hae Soo were doing every time they meet. He still felt like an outcast.

He was about to change the subject when Hae Soo suddenly looked restless as she stared past him.

His mother was coming their way.

Hae Soo quickly concealed herself behind a wall and Wang So covered the way towards it.

His mother stopped in front of him and he bowed to greet her.

"You got to stay here like you wanted," his mother said. "But do you really think this will change things? Do you think you will be useful here? I sent you to get adopted as a gesture of goodwill to that family and you could not even stay there? You are really useless."

Wang So could take every insult from his mother but not when Hae Soo was within hearing distance. He was worrying about what Hae Soo would think about him after hearing all the insults from his mother.
