Hae Soo spent a few hours on the riverside trying to calm her restless heart. She was still stunned with the proposal from the Fourth Prince and worried with the Eighth Prince overhearing about that proposal.
What are those two princes doing right at this moment? Are they fighting?
She was thinking about that since she left them. Did she do the right thing by leaving?
She shook her head and told herself that those two will be just fine. They had to be.
She sighed and finally decided to return to her room when she heard someone softly whispering her name.
She looked around and was terrified when she saw Woo Hee carrying Prince Baek-Ah with difficulty.
He was bleeding.
She quickly helped Woo Hee and they carried Prince Baek-Ah inside her small room.
"What happened?" Hae Soo asked but Woo Hee was not talking. She was just staring at Prince Baek-Ah, terrified.
"Woo Hee!" Hae Soo said a little louder and Woo Hee stared at her, still shaken.
"What should I do?"
"I can't stay here," Hae Soo explained as she took medicine from her drawer. Those were the medicines Prince Jung sent through Prince Baek-Ah and Prince Baek-Ah through Woo Hee. Prince Jung was sending too many types of medicine the past year that she filled her drawers with them. Now they had become useful. "I need to do something important. You need to treat Baek-Ah. You need to be strong for him."
"I can't..."
"You can!" Hae Soo said, getting impatient. "Or will you let Baek-Ah die?"
Woo Hee cried but she took the medicine from Hae Soo.
"I will get warm water," Hae Soo said. "There are clean towels in the cabinet. Just get some in there."
Woo Hee nodded and as she moved to get towels, Hae Soo left the room to get some warm water.
She moved as fast as she could because she still needed to make tea for the king. It also became her nightly task for the king since that day he asked her to help Prince So and Crown Prince Mu.
Jimong said that Lady Oh's tea was the only thing that could lift the king's mood and appetite these past few days. It seemed that the king was too saddened with Lady Oh's death and that took a toll on his health. He tremendously weakened over the past year and now the only thing that could make him feel somehow closer to Lady Oh was the taste of the tea she was making.
Hae Soo was still angry over Lady Oh's death but she knew Lady Oh would still make a healthy and delicious tea for the king even if he had repeatedly turned his back on her. That was how deep her love was for the king. That was the only reason Hae Soo was preparing the tea for the king like Lady Oh would have prepared it but still his health was deteriorating and it was alarming.
Ever since she knew that the king also cares for his fourth son, she wanted to prolong the king's life. She wanted to give the king more time to show Prince So how much he really cares. She was hoping that the tea she was making could really help the king. She wanted Prince So to feel a parent's love even just for a short while.
When she returned to her room, Woo Hee was not that terrified anymore and she looked more confident. She was already tending to Baek-Ah's wound.
