If felt like forever staring at Marcus. The last I saw him he was to week to move. His face was swollen, beaten, cut. God only knew how long he was abused and tortured for over the years. From what I heard, they thought he would never wake up. His body was slow healing and everything they were giving him his body was rejecting. It was even a miracle that he lasted a full eight weeks.

"Connor is on his way," he said putting his phone in his long coat. He then quickly took off his coat and handed it to me. "It's getting cold, here."

"I can manage," I sourly said. I know I'm I should be this was but David was on the ground, out cold. "What did you do to him?"

"Nothing, I just spooked him and he fainted," Marcus admitted. I almost laughed when I bent down to pet the kids head. "You're naked, please put this on now." Marcus continued shoving his coat at me. "I've realized that wolves don't show any shame. But please, to see a child naked before me makes me very uncomfortable."

Glaring up at him, he was right. Lately I have been too comfortable walking around without clothing. Shifting my eyes towards his coat. I grabbed it and throw it on. I then button it up from top to bottom. His coat was so large that my arms were not long enough for my hands to show themselves through the sleeves. His coat was so large, I felt like a child again. "Thank you," I replied bending down to grab David into my arms.

"What are you going this him?" he glared.

"I told him I was going to take him home with me. You're going to have to call my dad and tell him were we are. I'm not going to have him lay here in the cold."

"No, we stay here," he ordered sending shivers down my spine. But I wasn't going to give. I have to get back before some realizes I'm gone.

"Do as you like but have to return."

"He stays," he growled.

"His coming with me," I growled back.

"He stays!" he reached out for my arm and that's when I lost it.

Everything in my body was raging. There was no way I was going to leave him and there was no way that I was going to follow orders. "Fuck off!" I yelled in a beast like voice that was unrecognizable to me. I felt my body shifting but not to full more.

He let go of my arm then. He didn't show any emotions. "I have orders to take him in. His our only way of getting Melantha."

"His is no use to you," I growled. "The woman with only use him and kill him. Besides," I looked at the boy, "she after me." It wasn't a lie she was. Woman was after me. At most she was near by watching me. Waiting for the moment she could throw her son at me and get me in a blink of an eye. The bitch.

I didn't wait anymore and turned away. Heading back to Anthony, I squeezed the boy close to me. I realized he was very light. Fooled by his many layers of clothes he wasn't eating right. Like Adrian he should be able to eat normal human foods and drink like bits of blood but he wasn't getting that much. He was completely unloved.

Making my way to the house, Marcus had followed behind. I was almost grateful he followed but for some reason I wish he didn't. I didn't want to say goodbye a second time to my parents.

"River!" I heard Anthony scream at the top of his lungs as he burst through the kitchen door.

"Anthony."

"Where the hell have you been, I was worried sick. There's vampires in the woods and... who are they?" he finally said taking notice of Marcus and David.

"Marcus my..."

"Grandfather." The man behind me spoke.

"And this is David, my... cousin I just met. If you find anymore vampire they maybe my parents."
