Chapter 59

BROCK POV

McKenzie had told me she was coming home and while I should have been happy I was afraid that something had happened. I hadn't gotten a chance to question her as she got cut off and she hadn't called me back after.

I was currently at the gym training while I had been checking my phone several times to hear from her once she landed.

"Hey man you ready for a round?"

I nodded as we hooked up and went at it.

"Haven't seen the beard in awhile" he smirked as he remembered the big deal that had been made back when I fought in UFC and grew the beard.

"Well my wife is home a lot these days and she happens to like it" I shrugged as I threw a few punches trying to hide how happy I was at the thought of her showing up randomly, it didn't defeat the concern filling me though.

"When I heard you went for someone so much younger I'll be honest I thought you were going through some mid-life crisis shit"

I stopped and stared at him and he raised his hands in surrender.

"But from what I have seen, its anything but. I have known you for quite some years, even with Rena you weren't like this. "

"Like what?" I snapped which he didn't pay much attention to, he wouldn't have been my coach if he couldn't handle my moods.

"You always put her needs ahead of yours which hasn't really been Brock Lesnar in the past. Like I can't remember the last time you came to train here since before a few months back" I sighed.

" I don't even realize when I do it. She doesn't really like the whole serious fighting thing. How did we get to discussing how I act with my wife?"

"When you mentioned you were growing that beard for her, so when will the kids be rolling in?" I rolled my eyes as in his eyes that was the main reason to get a young wife I guessed.

I chuckled, "when my wife decides she's ready"

"Whipped"

I rolled my eyes regretting the fact that I had invited him over to Steve's a few times as they got a kick seeing her as my wallpaper. She was the only reason I even had the stupid thing or cared to make sure I had it on me constantly..

"I'm expecting it as soon as her reign is over which will probably be some time next year. I can see that she wants to have some kids around soon but with the job" I shook my head and began punching again not wanting to discuss shit now.

I glanced over at my phone to see maybe a light flashing but nothing. Apart of me wondered if I had dreamt the call this morning, I had woken up first thing and decided to call her taking a chance with the time difference but it was after noon and still nothing.
