POV: 3rd Person
"Is this really the perfect time to be calling him?" she asked, picking up her phone slowly. "He deserves to know about what happened to her, doesn't he? It's not like she's just mine, so surely, it can't do any harm, can it?"She unlocked the phone with a slide, opening up her contacts. On the small, digital screen in front of her, there was the familiar name.
"I mean, it's not like it's a bad thing, right? He hasn't even met her, but he should deserve to know. It only makes sense for me to tell him. Stupid me."
Her finger hovered over the call button, hesitating many times before backing away completely.
"Should I?" she asked herself anxiously.
She pressed the home button on her phone but then shook her head in regret.
"No, no... silly, I can't back out now, I've already gotten this far," she told herself. "What do you even have to be afraid of? I'm delivering him some really good news... what am I feeling regret for, then?"
She thought long and hard about the question that she had just asked herself. What was she feeling regret for? Was she feeling guilty? Why was she feeling like this?
"Oh come on, it's now or never! I can't back out now... then, he'll never know, and that's even worse. I can't do that to him, no matter what's happened in our lives."
She went back to her contacts, scrolling down to find his name. This time, her finger only had a gap of about three centimetres to the phone until she would click the call button.
"Of course..." she laughed bitterly, finally figuring out why she was feeling so bad about everything. "Of course I know why I'm regretting telling him now, it's because I never told him when I was supposed to... I'm a few months too late for this."
She looked at the smiling picture on the contact, seeing just how outdated the photo actually was.
I should get a newer photo, she thought to herself, he's changed too much since then for it to even look like the same person anymore.
"Are you ready for this?" she asked, mentally preparing herself.
"I know exactly what I'm going to say... we've rehearsed this in my head so many times... okay,"She took a deep breath and pressed the call button, her hand shaking as she put the phone to her ear.
"Hello? Jimin?" she asked into the phone wearily. "Yeah, it's me, Minah. Sorry to disturb you, but do you have a minute? I've called to tell you something important."
