Good Day
Metropolis
Lex Luthor was ready to make another speech today. Today, he was going to unveil his new project to power all of North America with the Key his researchers found floating in space. Although his researchers had not found it's origin, Lex didn't care. This would make Lex richer than he already was. It would also double LexCorp's net worth. And now, since Superman was gone, he would get more publicity.
Lex was standing outside and it was 10:00 am. There were hundreds of thousands of people watching him. He was an icon in Metropolis, after all. Everyone loved him but no one truly knew him.
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen." Lex started speaking into a microphone so everyone could hear him. "As you all should know, I am Alexander Joseph Luthor or Lex Luthor. You all know my company and you know what my company he done for Metropolis. I've brought Metropolis off of it's knees, rebuilt it into the city it once was. LexCorp has accomplished so much for this city, a lot of it would be hard to beat, even by us."
Lex saw cameras flashing in his face, he covered his eyes, "But today is a day I show the world something my scientists have been researching and I think this is the greatest thing LexCorp has made yet." Lex spoke with a booming voice, confident and smart.
Lex had a box in front of him which was on his podium. It was covered with a dark purple sheet. Lex pulled the dark purple sheer off of the box to reveal the Key. The Key was inside a clear box, floating around.
"Now, I bet all of you are wondering, what is that thing? This "Key" has enough energy to power an entire continent. It could power anything that runs on electricity, or cars, or planes, hell even bonfire at home." Lex explained, "It's our answer to our limited fossil fuels, our electric bills, our gas prices. We won't have these problems anymore, our economy will strive forever."
The crowd started cheering. People were clapping and yelling in joy. "I know right!" Lex replied to the crowd, "LexCorp plans on distributing the Key's power next week. Be ready folks, for greatness."
Lex walked away from the podium and back inside, leaving everyone cheering. Inside was Mercy looking at him, smiling. "Today is a good day, Mercy."
"It is indeed, Mr. Luthor." Mercy replied.
