City of Metropolis

Metropolis

Clark was nearly 25 now. He had graduated from Smallville University, an online school. He had earned a journalism degree and was working in Smallville as a sport journalist for about five years. However, now he had found a job at the Daily Planet and he would be paid almost twenty thousand dollars more.

Clark was walking the streets of Metropolis, looking high in the sky, admiring the skyscrapers and business buildings. This wasn't Smallville, it was crowded, rushed. Smallville was laid back, calm. He wearing a light blue suit and was smiling and watching the birds fly over him while walking. Clark was massive, he was six foot three, two hundred and ten pounds but he had bad posture. He stood slouched over with a bent back.

Clark was walking and he ran into an old woman who was dressed in a brown fur coat. The old woman dropped her leather purse on the ground and Clark tried to pick it up and hand it to her. The old woman grabbed the purse immediately and pushed Clark away.

"What do you think you're doing?!" The old woman shouted in Clark's face as dozens and dozens of people walked by, in a hurry.

"I'm sorry Ma'am, I wanted to hand you your bag..." Clark informed the old woman in a calm tone.

"Why? So you could steal my stuff?" The old woman questioned.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry, I'm new here, it's going to take a while for me to get used to things... I don't exactly know how everything works here yet." Clark stated.

"Clumsy idiot, go back to wherever you came from. People like you don't make it here in Metropolis." The old woman ordered as she walked away.

Clark shrugged off the insult and kept walking. After maybe a half a mile of walking, he viewed a skyscraper that had a big golden globe at the top of it. "The Daily Planet..." Clark mumbled to himself.
