Chapter 29

Luthor Tech

LexCorp Building

Lex Luthor was among the top six richest businessmen in the world. Him, Bruce Wayne, Oliver Queen, Ted Kord, Maxwell Lord, and Simon Stagg made up that list. Lex, however, was different from the other five men. Lex really was the one who built up his company, all the other men had their fathers or grandfathers do that task for them.

Lex had a dark side though, a very dark side. He wouldn't let many people see it. Lex had secretly murdered his father to gain control of his company. Lex was also a narcissist. He had renamed LuthorCorp, into LexCorp, after himself, and himself only.

Lex was inside his business building, located in Metropolis. Lex was wearing a grey suit and a red tie. Lex was bald and in his early thirties. He was walking the halls of the 52nd floor, the science floor.  This was where all the inventions that LexCorp was funding were being made. It also was where all extra terrestrial substances were being held. LexCorp was a business partner of NASA, the two companies exchanged knowledge of extra terrestrials all the time. They also created plans in case any extra terrestrial life threatened Earth.

Lex continued the halls of floor 52 until he got to the laboratory of Silas Stone. Stone didn't usually work at LexCorp and was only there because STAR Labs, another business partner of LexCorp, sent him there.

"Good morning, Silas." Lex greeted as he walked up to Silas.

Silas was typing on a computer that was located in front of a small, glass chamber. The chamber held a small, iron box, the size of a Rubik's Cube.

"Mr. Luthor..." Silas greeted Lex back.

"Oh please, it's Lex." Lex informed Silas. "You're a guest here, Silas, not another worker."

"Whatever you say, Lex..." Silas replied still typing.

"What are you working on?" Lex asked, intrigued.

"Well, I'm trying to figure out what this box exactly is..." Silas said to Lex. "STAR Labs and NASA found it floating around in space about two weeks ago."

"Ah, correct. They need my technology to furthermore research it." Lex stated, "I remember now. Do you have any clue on what it is?"

"I do, in fact. I believe it's a generator... A powerful one." Silas answered Lex's question.

"Do you have any idea how powerful it is?" Lex questioned his "guest".

"Well, you may not believe this but I predict it may be able to power almost a whole continent... This object, it's not from Earth, I can confirm that. It seems as if it was used as a key for something. Lex, this may be another clue that extra terrestrial life actually exists. First we have the incident in Smallville, now this? We're getting closer and closer to meeting alien life, I know it." Silas explained.

"Say this 'Key' is actually from another planet and it's as powerful as you say it is, wouldn't someone be looking for it, maybe someone hostile?" Lex asked, worriedly.

"That's what I fear... And if that is the case, we need to be ready." Silas said.

Lex checked his wristwatch, it was almost time for his rally. "Keep researching the 'Key', Silas. I'll check in on you every few hours..."

"You got it, Lex." Silas replied.

Lex walked away and smiled, deviously. This could decide could make his company trillions of dollars. Lex just needed to make sure whoever owned the "Key" before it landed on Earth wouldn't get their hands on it again.
