Chapter 6
Krypton
Smallville, Kansas
Martha and Clark had driven home. Clark was shaken up by what happened. The robber had fallen him a monster because of his powers and what he had done to him. Martha called Jonathan, letting him know that they were coming home and what happened. Once Martha and Clark had arrived at home, they saw Jonathan waiting on the couch for them.
"Clark, I heard what happened." Jonathan told his son as he walk in the house. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah Pa, just shaken up a little." Clark answered as he walked in the kitchen. "I need some water or something. I need to get a hold of myself."
Once Clark had left the room and walked in the kitchen, he listened Jonathan and Martha conversation with his super hearing. "It's time we show him everything." Jonathan said to Martha.
"I don't know, Jonathan. He's still young. He hasn't even developed all of his powers yet." Martha replied in a worried tone.
"Martha, it's time. He needs to learn how to actually use his powers. He needs someone else other than us to teach him." Clark heard Jonathan say.
"It might be better when he's older, when he can handle everything." Martha said not wanting to show Clark something. She clearly wanted Clark to find out when he was older.
"But Martha, what if he screws up with his powers? What if he never learns? What if he accidentally hurts someone he doesn't want to? This is the only way we could make sure he doesn't do anything of those things." Jonathan explained to Martha in a gentle tone.
A long moment of silence fell upon Jonathan and Martha. Martha finally broke the silence, "I don't want to do this, not this early but if we don't..."
"Bad things could happen." Jonathan finished Martha's sentence.
Jonathan and Martha walked in the kitchen to find Clark drinking a glass of water. Once Martha and Jonathan walked in, Clark put his glass of water down, "What do you need to show me?"
"You were listening?" Jonathan asked.
"Of course I was." Clark replied with an angry tone, he wanted to know what they were hiding.
"Follow me to the barn." Jonathan commanded as he started walking to the barn with Martha.
Once Jonathan, Martha, and Clark arrived at the barn, Jonathan opened up a secret door in the ground covered by dirt. Jonathan brushed off the dirt on a huge, round, blue, and red object. He then moved out of the way to show Clark. Martha eyes started getting watery when she saw the object.
"It looks like a spaceship." Clark stated as he got closer to it to touch it.
"That's because it is one Clark." Jonathan told his son as his son was inspecting the spaceship.
"It's the one that brought you here, to Earth." Martha informed.
"What do you mean you it brought me here? Aren't I from here?" Clark asked, being amazed by the spaceship.
"Clark-," Jonathan couldn't even start his sentence as Clark had activated an Artificial Intelligence hologram of Jor El.
"Whoa." Clark said as he glared at Jor El, not know he was actually his father.
"Hello Kal." The hologram of Jor El greeted.
"Who are you? What are you? Why did you call me Kal?" Clark asked in awe. He didn't know this type of technology existed.
"I am Jor-El of the planet Krypton. I am your father, your name is Kal-El." Jor-El stated as Clark looked at his father then to his mother. Clark realized his mother was crying, "You were not born on Earth, Kal. You are born on Krypton, a world of great scientific advancement but a world of a doomed fate. Krypton's Red Sun and my failures led to it's death. I couldn't save Krypton but I could save you, my son."
A crystal floated out of the rocket and into Clark's hands. "This unbreakable crystal contains Krypton's history and it's everything I can give you after my death. You were sent here for a reason Kal. You were sent to protect this world for they are naïve to the dangers in the universe. You have powers that no one on Earth could ever think of. You are free to move among them, live amongst them however, you look like them but you are not one of them."
Clark's eyes turned red in anger and frustration. Clark's read heat vision spewed out of his eyes and towards the hologram. The heat vision, however, fazed right through the hologram and hit the rocket. After realizing that the heat vision wouldn't destroy the hologram, Clark ran up to the rocket and swung at it.
"Kal-," Jor-El couldn't finish as Clark interrupted.
"Go away!" Clark yelled at the hologram as the hologram disappeared.
Clark ran outside into the cornfields to be alone and balled up. Jonathan chased after him. "This can't be true! None of this can be true!" Clark cried. Clark looked to his father, "Why'd you show me this? I didn't want to know that!"
"I'm sorry Clark, I didn't expect this. You needed to know though. I thought you would understand, I should've listened to your mother. You needed to know why you had these powers, why you were different." Jonathan tried to explain.
"I don't want to be different. I don't want to be Kal-El. I want to be Clark Kent, I want you be your son!" Clark said to his father.
Jonathan grabbed Clark on the shoulders, "Clark, you are my son, you are Clark Kent." Jonathan hugged him, "It's just this is how you're going to learn to control your powers, I don't know any other way. This was me and your mother's last resort. Clark I need to you learn how to use your powers, son, so you don't get hurt."
"I will learn, Pa! I don't need Jor-El or whatever his name is! You and Ma could teach me!" Clark exclaimed.
"Clark, we've tried." Jonathan explained softly, "We've failed, he is the only way. He's your father too."
"I don't want him to be my father! I don't want to lose you! I want you to be my father!" Clark told his father while tears ran out of his eyes.
"Clark, I am your father. You'll never lose me. It's just he's your father too." Jonathan explained, still hugging Clark, "Never worry about losing me Clark."
