"That's my girl. Fierce in the face of danger." ~Kane

Heels are not the best thing to be running through an airport in, but Kane would not slow down. His long strides covered the distance quickly as he searched for his brother. My legs are fairly long, and I'm normally a fast walker, heels had a tendency to slow me down.

"Kane," I wheezed, damn I'm out of shape. "Please slow down. You're killing me here."

He looked back at me surprised, as if he had forgotten I was here. "Sorry." He slowed down, just barely.

He had been very quite on the drive to the airport, his eyes were narrowed and focused. His jaw tense and locked. He looked so angry, I didn't understand why, I was thinking he'd be excited to see his brother again. Maybe I was wrong, I didn't know much about their past so I really couldn't make any judgments.

"Did he tell you where he was waiting?" I asked Kane, hoping it was somewhere close. My legs were beginning to burn and we looked like absolute crazy people running through the airport at 8:30pm on a Wednesday night.

"Gate 8."

I looked to the left of me, Gate 6, a sign read. Oh thank goodness, almost there.

As we got closer to Gate 8 I started to look around. I don't know what I was looking for, I had never seen Kane's brother. For some reason I just felt like he'd pop out with a sign saying Hey I'm Kane's brother, I could possibly be your best friends mate and save her life. Of course nothing was ever that easy.

Kane came to a halt in front of me and I nearly slammed face first into his back. Stepping around him, I followed his gaze as he stared straight ahead.

A man of close resemblance was standing 20 feet from us. Staring Kane down. A backpack slung over one of his shoulders, a passport clutches in his right hand.

Kane took a hesitate step forward, his brother seemed to mirror his actions until they were right in front of each other. With in a second I see a smile stretch onto his brothers face as Kane wrapped him in a brotherly hug.

I stood back watching the loving interaction with a smile on my face. Awe, they are so cute. I waited until they had parted and exchange pleasantries to make my presence known.

"Ahem." I coughed, trying to grab their attention.

Kane turned to me with a large grin. His hand outstretched towards me, beaconing me to him. His brother stared at me with curiosity and confusion.

"Parker," Kane pulled me to him. "I'd like you to meet my mate, Nicollet."

Parker raised his eyebrow at Kane, before turning to address me. "It's a pleasure to meet you Nicollet. I'm Parker. I'm sorry to seem so surprised, Kane never told me he found his mate."

It was my turn to raise my eyebrow at Kane. "You never told him about me?"
Kane shrugged sheepishly. "Its not like we converse often."

"Well," I turned to Parker, "its very nice to finally meet you. Kane hasn't told me much about you either."

Parker glanced at his brother. "Sounds like Kane. He's not much for sharing about his life."

"I'm starting to notice." I murmured, sending my mate an accusing glance.

Kane through his hands up in surrender. "I'm sorry. I just never thought it was that important."

I rolled my eyes. Men. "Yeah, yeah whatever. Are we gonna be here all night or we gonna head out soon?"
