Luke (7)
"Luke..." You whispered, tugging at his sleeping bag. No reply. "Luke..." You repeated, reaching further into the darkness in hope your brother would awake from the deep slumber that had captured him.
Sighing you reached around a little more, only becoming more and more desperate for the toilet. Unzipping your sleeping bag, you wiggle out of the comfortable cocoon that had been keeping you safe and warm most the night, before curling your knees into the chest.
Everything was silent.
You could no longer hear the soft rustle of the leaves on the branches of the trees like earlier when the soft, summery, evening breeze drifted carelessly around the tent. Nor could you hear the echoes of the crickets as they chatted along. What worried you even more was that you could not even hear the deep breathing and the gentle humming sound that your older brother normally made when he slept.
"Luke?" You said a little louder. The midnight blackness of the tent seemed to get impossibly darker each time that you grew more worried.
"Luke..." After calling Luke multiple times you began to believe he was gone for good, maybe he was still annoyed at you for accidentally spilling food down the top he got you when he was on tour, or maybe he was angry that he had to ask multiple times for you to get ready for bed before you followed the orders you were given, or perhaps he's just generally fed up of having to look after his hyperactive 7 year old, for a whole week, out in the wild, whilst his parents have a nice break somewhere exotic.
You may act silly sometimes but you weren't stupid, in fact you were particularly smart to say you were only just seven. You knew exactly what was going on, your friends sister had complained multiple times about having to look after the pair of you and look probably felt the same way. However, Luke was probably a little less tolerant as he was rarely around to look after you and didn't understand your childish ways.
"It's okay" you thought to yourself, "there is a boat on the river next to the camping site that Luke was teaching me how to use earlier, I will just use the boat to get home". A sudden rush of confidence flooded your body as you scramble to your feet and race to the far corner of the tent where Luke had been keeping all your outdoor clothes in a nice tidy pile.
You pulled on your warmest clothes over your pajamas, before filling your My Little Pony rucksack with some of your colouring books and spare clothes.
In the darkness you attempt to write Luke a note, the scrawly purple crayon spelling "sory for being bad, I going hom on bote".
You then grab hold of the nearest torch and unzip the tent, making your way to the toilet block before you went down to the river bank to stop your boating adventure.
Luke PoV
After waking up in the night for a wee, I decided with y/n sleeping soundly, it was safe to leave her for 20 to 25 minutes while I walked to the toilet block. However, what I did not expect was returning to the tent, the zipper of the tent door unzipped and y/n and her things no where to be seen.
I didn't know what to do first, run to the boys who were staying just a few tents down from mine, wake up the whole campsite or call Mum and Dad. Out of panic, I did all three. I ran through the campsite to the boys whilst shouting "y/n" and trying to get in touch with Mum.
"What do you mean she's gone", Calum said still not fully awake or aware of his surroundings.
I turned to Ashton, knowing that he would know exactly what to do.
"We need to split up" he said.
"Don't make me get out of bed." Michael groaned.
"She might have followed you to the toilet block, Michael and Calum go look around there. Me and Luke will go back to the tent and see if we can find her." We all followed Ashton's plan and set off to find my baby sister.
