Tahari
I became uneasy of what I heard over the phone after calling Sina. Before the call ended, all I heard was "Aye man, these niggas about to spray". My heart was beating rapidly as my palms became moist. I was scared out of my mind. The only thing that came to mind was the worst. My hands shook frantically as I called Sina's cell back to only get his voicemail. I effortlessly slipped my cell into my pocket and made my way out of the bathroom. I walked along the unfrequent hallway until I turned into the hall that had an exit. I checked my surroundings before I pushed the door open and left out. I walked swiftly through the parking lot and made my way off of the premises. I walked along the broken sidewalk for a good 20 minutes until I found myself at a bus stop with an unoccupied bench. I took a seat and began shaking my legs frantically as I awaited for the city bus. I folded my arms and nervously rubbed my arms up and down before gazing down the busy streets. With the bus being nowhere in sight, I reached and grabbed my cell from my pocket and tried his cell once more to only get his voicemail. I sighed out of frustration as I gazed down at the ground...
The only thing that was going through my mind was Sina getting locked up or him being hurt. I continued to shake my leg nervously until I finally brought my gaze up to see the bus coming down the street. I grew relieved as I quickly stood to my feet as the bus made it's stop. I dug into my pocket and pulled out 2 bucks as the bus door opened. I awaited for a few people to get off before I took a step inside. I paid my fare and took the first unoccupied seat that I laid eyes on. I folded my arms as the cool air from the air conditioner pinched my skin. I gazed out the window as the bus took off and at this time, anxiety was taking over and I still wore the cloth of paranoia. I just didn't understand how to feel.
After a while, my stop was finally coming about and I was anxious to get off of this bus. As the bus slowed down I stood to my feet and grabbed hold of the pole so I wouldn't stumble. The bus finally stopped and I let go of the pole and made my way towards the door as the other passengers gradually gathered themselves. I walked off as others waited to get on.
Downtown...
I stood on the familiar corner of 3rd and Claiborne and with that I began my familiar walk. As I walked along these unfrequent streets, my paranoia of someone spraying nameless bullets around me drowned in worry of him being murdered. As my mind clouded in worry and fear, I couldn't help but hear faint gunshots. I reached into my pocket once more and tried his cell and nothing changed. I stuffed it back into my pocket as I continued walking. Getting off the avenue, I found myself on Pollock. I suddenly heard my cell ring from my pocket and with that my heart skipped a beat. I quickly grabbed it to only be disappointed by the name I saw across the screen.
It was Jade...
I pressed answer before sliding the cell to my ear. "Hello", I said into the phone.
"Hari, is everything alright?", she queried with concern.
"No, Jade", I said as I heard more gunshots, this time, they were close.
"Are those gunshots? Tahari, where are you?", she asked.
I took a look at my surroundings. I was now scared for my life. I began to walk quickly along the unfrequent street.
"Tahari, where are you?", she queried once again.
I pressed my lips together before speaking. "Don't worry about me Jade, I'm fine. I'm going to call you right back", I said as I ended the call before giving her a chance to respond.
