It has been 5 years since Loki had brought her Percy, and right now, Sally didn't know what to do. Every time she tried to put him in any sort of boys clothes, he would have a hissy fit and insist "I am not a boy! I am not a boy!" This confused Sally so much, she decided to go to the doctor yo see if maybe he knew why Percy was doing this.

~Time skip to the doctors office~

Upon arrival, Sally instantly signed in then sat in the waiting area with Percy, who was wearing the girliest thing she could find. Plain blue jeans, blue rain boots, and a Pink Polo shirt. Sally had no idea where the Pink Polo shirt came from, but she couldn't care less at the moment since it had been the only reason Percy had quieted down. "Sally and Percy Jackson?" Called a mans voice.

Sally got out of her seat, and holding Percy's hand, she followed the man to his office. "Hello there Sally, what brings you here?" The doc asked. Sally smiled. "Well Dr. Fred, Percy's been acting a little weird lately." She told him. "Weird how?" He asks. "Well, for starters, he keeps insisting that he's not a boy and that he's actually a girl."

Dr. Fred looked at Percy, who had been silently coloring the whole time. He smiled. "Ma'am, it sounds like Percy here is Transgender to me." He tells Sally. She looked at him questionably. "Transgender? What's that?" She asked him. He sighed. "It is: denoting or relating to a person whose self-identity does not conform unambiguously to conventional notions of male or female gender." He tells her. "Umm... English please?" She asks politely. He chuckles.

"Transgender means, or at least in this case, it means a 'female stuck in a males body'. However, it could also refer to situations when a 'male is trapped in a females body', so to speak. I'm not saying it literal, just that, the person believes they are one gender, but their body shows something else." He explained again.

Sally nodded in understanding. "So you mean to tell me that my son, Percy, is actually my daughter? Hm. I've never heard of something like this before." She tells Dr. Fred. He just sighs in response. "Yes, not many people do. Most transgender children are usually shunned by their families and never tell anyone else, for fear that they will be shunned from society as well."

"That's awful! How could they do that to their own child! This is outrageous!" She yells, upsettingly. Percy sees this and gives her a hug, trying to comfort her. "It's ok mommy, everything will be ok." Percy obviously was oblivious to what they were talking about, but Sally still found comfort in his actions.

"Ok Percy, thank you." She said to him, smiling. "So, what would you recommend I do Dr. Fred? I don't want him to be shunned by everyone he meets! Nor bullied because of who he is!" She said to him. "Of course you don't  Sally. However, studies show that society  are not very open and welcoming to people like him most of the time. And for that fact, I would suggest having her wear gender neutral clothing and having a neutral hair style as well so that it isn't obvious to others." He tells her sadly.

"So you mean to tell me that my child will not be able to ever be herself in public? Just because she's transgender, people will never accept her for who she is!?" At this point, Sally was crying so much that she couldn't get anymore words out without crying harder. She was clutching onto Percy as if her life depended on it, and to her, it did.

Dr. Fred looked at the sight in front of him in sadness. Percy will most likely never quite fit in because of what she is. It saddened him whenever he thought about a child like Percy. Who will probably be rejected from society because of her differences. Why did people have to be so judgmental? Why couldn't they just accept different and make it a part of life? Is that too much to ask for?

All these questions were  running through Sally and his head at this moment. Percy didn't understand what was going on so she kept trying to calm down her mother who was sobbing at the thought of her daughter being bullied because of who she is.

By the time Sally calmed down and stopped sobbing, Dr. Fred realized that he was late for his next appointment. So, he sent Sally and Percy on their way with a quick apology before calling in the next patient.

Sally was depressed for the whole way home. But, then she remembered what the Doc had said. She didn't have to where boys clothes at hope! Only in public! With that, Sally got off at the next metro stop with Percy, and they made their way to Times Square to go shopping for some better clothes for Percy.

200$ later, they had bought Percy a whole new wardrobe and decorations for her room. Nothing they bought was extremely girly girl, seeing as it was mostly blue, but all the things they bought were definitely not for boys.

They went home with a ton of shopping bags that day. And that day, sadly, Sally was forced to tell Percie that she can only be a girl at home, but in public, she has to be a girl. When Percie asked why, Sally's only response was: "Because I don't want my baby girl to get hurt." Percie was sad that she could only be herself at home, but when she saw her moms face, she put on a smile so that her mommy would believe that everything was ok with her. Even if that wasn't entirely true...
