Criticism To Do Better

A/N: Hey Guys.

I know it's late and what not, but I decided to write this poem because something in my head just layed it right in front of me and I had to do this. So parents, well sometimes they can be a little hard on you because they lack faith in you--because you're a disappointment sometimes. That doesn't mean you should give up, no matter how tough times get...although those little negative thoughts will always stay with you--no matter how far you push them to the back of your mind to stop thinking about them--they'll haunt you day and night and you just have to fight through them.

I definitely don't have it easy, but then who does?

I wish you would believe me when I say I try my best,

You lack faith in me like you have from the start,

Creating an angry fest saying I won't get no where,

I guess your little truths and lies are all but a test.

For the road ahead I have to face,

My whole life right in front of me,

With me sitting behind the stirring wheel,

Controlling what and not to do or where and not to go,

You won't teach me so in this I'm alone,

Why didn't you tell me it was I all along?,

Did you expect me to somehow know it all.

Why can't you say something nice?,

Like "I support you, no matter what happens I will always support you",

Your brightest side will have to suffice,

Then instead your worst shall outshine the sun inside of you,

When I lay in bed at night every thought in my head,

Makes me feel as if your criticism is so true,

Forming the night as the day goes dark,

And the yellow of the sun goes blue.

I'm your daughter and I'm figuring out myself,

I don't know which path is right,

Yet I know which path is wrong,

I go down the one with a sign "Mistakes",

And I can't seem to get over the little bad words people say,

I promise you, I'll get better and do whatever it takes.

To make you proud and make you wear a smile,

Even for a while, however long it might be.
