Chapter 14

Yusei, Akiza and the twins were trying to take in the information they were given. Yusei was currently pacing back and forth, trying to think of something to say. Akiza wondered, "How is that temple connected to everything that happened so far?" Luna replied, "The only people that would know is Crow, Jack and Y/N. We have to find them and see what they say." Everyone agreed, Akiza said, "Yusei, you go on ahead. We'll meet up with you all later." Yusei nods, revving up his duel runner.

You three were still trying to figure out what the temple had to do with the shadow spirits. Crow saw how focused you were and said, "Y/N I know how much you want to find out about these connections but I think you're pushing yourself too much." You shake your head, "I'm alright, Crow. I'm pacing myself so don't worry about me." Crow replies, "That makes me worry even more." You all stopped when you heard the sound of a duel runner pulling up.

Yusei drove up to the (L/N) bakery, parking his runner where Jack and Crow's were. He knocked and was greeted by Crow. "Hey Yusei.", Crow greeted cheerfully. Yusei replies, "Hey Crow. Is Y/N around?" Crow jokingly rolls his eyes, "You can't be away from her for that long, can you?" Yusei brushed him off, "She is my girlfriend, Crow." Crow called out, "Y/N, your lover boy is here!" Yusei heard you reply, "Oh be quiet, Crow!" Yusei shook his head at Crow's silliness. Yusei came in and saw you sitting with Jack, sketching something. Jack asked you, "Did you find out what those carvings mean?" You shook your head, "I'm still trying to decipher some of them. It's going to take a bit longer than I thought it would." Yusei sat beside you, hugging your side. Yusei remembered something, "Oh yeah. Luna was talking to a spirit earlier. She said it was one of your spirit friends, Y/N." You reply, "Which one came to visit you?" Yusei answers, "Luna said that it was Arcanite Magician. He was telling us (through Luna) that you think that the shadow spirits are somehow connected to that temple we all visited." You sigh with frustration, "We haven't been able to find a connection except these carvings." You showed him a picture of some carvings from the temple. Yusei observed your complexion, "Darling, you look so pale. Have you been sleeping well?" Before you could answer, you suddenly saw dots in your vision and felt your world turn black. You could hear Yusei yell, "Y/N!"

Akiza arrived at the bakery with Leo and Luna. She peeked inside to see only Jack and Crow inside. She called out to them, making their heads turn. Akiza asked, "Where's Yusei?" Crow answers sadly, "Y/N collapsed so Yusei took her to her room to rest." Akiza panicked, "Is she okay?" Crow shrugged, making Akiza reply, "That's not very reassuring, Crow."

You felt something cold on your forehead. The last thing you heard was Yusei calling your name. You didn't realize that you had been pushing yourself over your limit until you had suddenly collapsed. You felt someone take a strand of your hair, twirling it around their finger. You felt your eyes slowly open, your vision slightly adjusting to the surrounding you were currently in. You croak, "Yusei?" You saw that Yusei had fallen asleep by your side, sitting in a chair adjacent to your bed. You smile to yourself. You poked his cheek causing him to bolt up in the chair. Yusei blinked and saw that you were awake. Yusei stroked your cheek, "You pushed yourself too much. You should've taken a break, Y/N. Your body can't handle too much stress." Yusei adds, "As your boyfriend, I forbid you from researching anymore until you get better." You ask, "What if I refuse?" You felt Yusei's breath against your neck, "Then I guess I'll have to force you to comply, baby." You felt his hands wrap around your waist, his nose skimming your neck. "Y-Yusei." His lips gently descended upon your neck, sweet pecks left behind as he went. Your heart began to race at how bold Yusei was being. Yusei then gently rests his forehead against yours. He then adds, "You have a fever, too. I'll go change your cloth." He takes the cloth, and soaks it in a cold bowl of water that was on your bedside table. You were struggling to keep your eyes open, Yusei thought that it was absolutely adorable. Yusei whispers, "Sweet dreams, darling." He kisses your forehead and pulls the covers over you. He watched your facial expressions, he then saw a tear fall down your cheek. Yusei wipes away the fallen tear, seeing that you were upset. Yusei took off his jacket, placing it on the chair. He crept over quietly, not wanting to wake you from your slumber. Yusei laid beside you, gently wrapping you in his arms. He felt himself become tired, finding himself in a dream world with you in it.
