I Don't Need A Girl

Lloyd groaned and leaned back in his chair. "I'm bored!"

"Why don't you play video games?" Kai asked.

"I beat them all already."

"Why don't you train?" Zane suggested.

"Training is boring."

"Why don't you go read some of your comic books?" Cole asked.

"I memorized them all."

Jay threw up his hands. "So quit whining and go buy some more."

Lloyd groaned again. "I'll get mobbed by fangirls." He picked up his glass of water and took a sip.

"Why don't you get a girlfriend?" Misako asked from the doorway.

Lloyd choked and sprayed his water all over Cole, who was across the table from him. "Mom, what...? Gross! No!" he spluttered.

"Hey!" Cole protested. He grabbed a napkin and tried to wipe some of the water off of his gi. "What was that for?"

Lloyd ignored him. "I don't need a girlfriend, Mom! I don't want a girlfriend!"

"Why not? I think it's a great idea," Sensei Garmadon said from beside Misako.

"You're not helping, Dad," Lloyd muttered.

"So, what do you think she'll look like?" Kai asked with a grin.

"I think she'll have brown hair," Jay said eagerly.

"Bet you five bucks she's a redhead," Cole shot back.

"You're on!"

"Perhaps we should simply set him up with Nya," Zane offered.

Kai and Jay both glared at him. "ZANE!!"

"It was only a suggestion!" Zane protested.

"No!" Lloyd yelled. "No girlfriends! I don't need a girl!"

"Let's ask Sensei," Cole suggested with a smirk. He pointed to where Sensei Wu had just entered the kitchen through the other door. "Sensei, do you think Lloyd needs a girlfriend?"

Sensei Wu couldn't hold back a snort of laughter. "Well, I..." He snorted again, then burst out laughing.

Lloyd stood and threw his hands up. "Forget it! I'd rather be bored." Then he walked past Sensei Wu and out of the room.

"So," Jay whispered, "what's the plan?"

"Well," Cole whispered back, "I recently met somebody on this dating website—shut up, Kai—called PerfectMatch.com."

Kai snickered. "Even I'm not that desperate, Cole." Cole jabbed him with an elbow. "Ow!"

"I have a question," Zane whispered. "Why are we hiding in Nya's closet to discuss this? Could we not have simply used one of our bedrooms? It is very cramped in here."

"I didn't pick the spot, Jay did," Cole protested. "Ask him."

"I'm gonna kill you, Jay," Kai muttered.

"What?" Jay asked. "It was the first place I could think of!"

Cole sighed. "As I was saying, I figure we could convince Lloyd to sign up for that website. Or we could sign him up ourselves, I guess."

"And then what?" Jay asked.

Cole grinned. "And then we wait for magic to happen."

Kai nodded slowly. "I like it."

"Count me in," Zane said.

"Me too," Jay added.

"All right then," Cole said with a grin. "One girlfriend for Lloyd, coming right—whoa!"

Nya stood in the door to the closet, a pair of shoes in her hand and a grease stain on her shirt. "Is there a reason you four are in my closet?"

Kai shushed her quickly. "We were making a plan to get Lloyd a girlfriend," he explained in a whisper.

"Oh. Well, I kind of need my closet, so..."

"That's okay, we're done now anyway," Jay said. "Need any help?"

"No." Kai grabbed the back of Jay's collar and yanked him out of the room.

"NO!" Lloyd yelled. "No, no, no, no, NO!"

"Zane, help!" Jay yelped. "He's gonna get loose!"

Zane quickly grabbed Lloyd's left arm. Jay was already pinning his right one. Together, the two of them pulled Lloyd off of his bed and marched him downstairs.

"Here he comes!" Kai called from the bottom of the stairs. "You ready, Cole?"

"Almost," Cole called from where he was sitting at the monastery's computer. "I'm just about done setting it up."

"NO NO NO!" Lloyd repeated. "Sensei! Help!"

Sensei Wu appeared in the doorway to the living room. "Is there a problem, nephew?" The grin on his face showed that he knew exactly what was going on.

"Okay, I'm done!" Cole called. "Whoa! He got a match already!"

"No way!" Kai said with a grin.

"NO!" Lloyd repeated at the top of his lungs. "Mom! Dad! Nya! HELP!"

Laughter echoed out of the living room. Lloyd's parents and Nya obviously weren't going to be any help either.

Jay and Zane hauled Lloyd to the computer and sat him down in the chair. Lloyd tried to stand back up, but Cole and Kai put their hands on his shoulders and kept him sitting down. Zane and Jay slumped against the wall, exhausted.

A chat request appeared on the screen. Kai grabbed the mouse and hit 'accept.' Lloyd sighed and resigned himself to chatting with...y/u. Whoever that was.

"I'm gonna get you guys for this," Lloyd muttered.

The others just laughed.
