Early mornings.
Oh, how I despise them.
There was a mandatory team meeting that I had to go to, so I ate breakfast quickly then went to the meeting room/seating room.
The three newest zords were handed out to Mia, Jayden and Kevin. I didn't agree with decision, but didn't want to defy Ji's choices.
Mike thought it was going to be him for the beetle disk, you could almost see the hope in his eyes. It was passed to Mia. He clenched his fists. Emily and I noticed, but did not open our mouths to speak. It wouldn't help at all, and we were both wise enough not to argue with Ji.
After the meeting was adjourned, Mike went outside to train, and trained until lunch.
Lunch was sushi. Raw fish on top of sticky rice, yes. But it was, however, very tasty. Though I'd rather say that I missed the staff's cooking at Xavier's.
"Wow, what's come over Mike? I've never seen him train so hard." Kevin said, sitting down with his lunch.
"I think he wanted that disk badly." Emily sat down next to me.
"I know, I felt kind of bad taking it instead of him. I felt like it should have been his." Mia shook her head, then picked up her chopsticks and began to eat.
I didn't feel like speaking.
"Do not feel bad, your hard work is once of the reasons we've chosen you. I told mike, he needs to work just as hard." Ji came into the conversation.
"But he's been trying." Emily protested. I knew she had a soft spot for Mike, and Mike had a soft spot from her. Everyone knew.
"Yes, and I believe he has it in him. But until he learns to listen, he is not ready." Ji said sternly.
The four of us exchanged an uneasy look.
I didn't feel like eating.
I got up from the table and walked to my room. Once there, I burst into tears.
I knew what Mike felt like.
He was a reflection of me when I first went to Xavier's.

No more time to cry. I thought as the gap sensor rang.
We raced to the battle. As usual I turned into a bird and watched from above.
He looked like a bird.
The nighlock had a red hat, sort of like an umbrella or tree roots. He had a bird like face, with a crooked beak that went down to his torso. His skirt was black, and his torso was made out of tear like shapes. He carried a silver and dark red staff.
He created misery, making people lose hope.
I knew what losing hope was like.
It was like you just gave up on life.
Suddenly, the world around you just turns, well... blank, and bleak. You don't know where your life is going and you just want to stop the suffering.
"Isn't it wonderful, such delicious depths of despair from my rain." The nighlock cackled. There's always the miserable human part crammed in a nighlock's brain. They're sick, sick beings.
"They're so lucky, they get to experience the purest, cruelest, the loveliest misery of all: the loss of hope." The nighlock laughed.
I wanted to kill him badly.
