The rangers had a meeting, and Logan and I didn't want to intrude. Instead, we had some breakfast in the kitchen (since they had it in the living room) then retreated to our rooms to freshen up.

"Kevin's on a covert mission, and I've got nothing to do, I figured I'd come and talk to you." Jayden shrugged, as if the idea was the most obvious thing in the world after he walked in and sat on my bed.

"So you were bored, didn't feel like talking to the team and decided to talk to the mutant freak? I'm an open book." I turned to him after putting away some of my folded clothes.

"That's... a different way to say it, but yes." He patted the spot next to me. "Come on. You have any ideas on what to do?"

The gap sensor went off. "Crime fighting sounds good." I grinned and pulled him up from my bed and down the hallway.

Jayden clicked the water map (or whatever it was called, it rippled like water, so we'll just call it the water map) and Mia, Emily and Mike came rushing in.

"Parking garage, 5th street. Uh... Ash, come, but stay hidden." Jayden ordered, and I followed him and the others out.

When you're a superhero crushing on a team mate and you're fighting someone, or something dangerous, you have a lot of chances where you want to scream, "DUDE SINCE WE'RE DYING JUST KNOW I'VE HAD THE BIGGEST CRUSH ON YOU FOR MONTHS, HELL, I EVEN LOVE YOU."

But just try to be as subtle as possible.

It wasn't fair that Jayden had a mission with the rangers and all I had to do was watch them. I'd proven myself, but this was a nighlock fight, only for the rangers...

Mike was sprayed first, and he collapsed. The nighlock, or monster thing, whatever you want to call it, next aimed for Emily. He seemed to spray some type of gas that was toxic enough for them to drop and cough. Drop and cough.

Jayden fought hard, but still, he was knocked down three stories. Luckily there were no broken bones and they landed on cardboard. The girls fought for as long as they could before the air intoxicated them and the nighlock went away.

When I found them in that state, they were curled up, coughing and clutching their chests.

I got them home (It took an hour) and when we took their temperature it was nearly impossible for them to recover.

They were in bed, sick.

I took care of them, got them Sprite and chocolate and loads of fluids. Seeing Jayden so... so weak brought me near tears. Logan was out - the Prof called him up to NY and they picked him up in the Black Bird while the rangers and I went through the battle.

"Please hurry, Kevin. It may be our only hope." I heard Ji say, then hang up.

The sensor started again. "Ah, crap." I sighed. Jayden managed to stagger out of bed and almost out the door to the bedroom.

"Jayden, no." I grabbed his hand and pulled him back to bed. "You can't fight; not like this."

"I have to." He grunted out. "I'm the leader, I'm supposed to defeat the nighlock."

"No, you are staying here to rest."

"Please let me." He whispered.

"Fine, but we're taking the SUV." I said, giving in.

The others joined us, as they just barely crawled out of bed.

This was going to take a long time.

I was hiding, again.

Please Kevin, get that stupid thing zord you need and save these guys before they die of high fever!

I thought, and a few minutes later, an oh-so familiar blue ranger showed up. Perfect timing.

The others were better in no time, and I managed to fly away from the battle before there was a lot of explosions.

I met them back at my house later. They didn't look injured or anything, and Ji was happy Kevin found the swordfish zord.

"You guys were amazing." I complimented.

"Kevin, thanks for saving me." Mia kissed Kevin's cheek.

"You're very welcome." Kevin kissed Mia back on her cheek and she smiled.

If only relationships could be as perfect as Mia and Kev.
