With tears running down, broken heart pounding against my chest I slam the apartment door behind me and discard my things on the floor, almost ripping my coat off me and throwing it aside before rushing into the apartment.
The apartment I used to share with you.
The apartment we both shared, together.
I push my hair back to focus on my phone in hand and call you again, frustrated, I bring the device to my ear pacing back and forth in the dark living room.
I've been calling you since I sat in the Uber on the way home, hoping you'd pick up. I could've given you time after our argument but I didn't want to. I didn't want to give those snakes around you the opportunity to turn you against me.
One the way back to our apartment I couldn't deny that I was angry at you, angry that you'd treat me this way.
You had kicked me out of your place and out of your life but it was only because you had so many around you, you did that because of them.
