A moody prince and a magical princess. One curse, and an eternal war. Stuck together on a journey to twist fate, to end a war, the two royals become tentative friends, and it would've easier if that was all they were, but their own heart begin to betray them, a love begins to grow. But love can't be allowed in war, not when fate puts them at the receiving end of each other's blade, yet has our hearts ever listened to any intent? Has fate ever been easy to accept? The princess has always known the continuous battle, and she has never questioned it. She has been sharpened with her powers, kept a secrete, waiting for just the right moment to pounce. But when she is taken by the Prince of the kingdom she has been at war against, he gives her a fragile hope. A hope that maybe this war doesn't have to be endless, that this curse could be broken. On a journey to break a curse, to save their kingdoms, the princess is not prepared to deal with this prince who seems to know her better than anyone else. A prince that is far more charming, caring than she could have ever imagined.

He grabbed her before her body could collapse completely onto the burning sand. His hands held her with terrifying urgency, pulling her weak trembling form against his chest while the desert wind screamed around them like something alive. "Stay awake." His voice sounded rougher than usual. Almost afraid. The heat had become unbearable hours ago. Endless golden emptiness stretched in every direction beneath a white merciless sky, swallowing distance, swallowing time, swallowing thought itself. She could barely keep her eyes open anymore. Then suddenly- crying. A woman crying somewhere far away. Soft at first. Then louder. A sound so painfully heartbroken it did not even feel human anymore. The both of them froze. A silhouette appeared slowly between the trembling heatwaves ahead of them. A woman. Long dark hair moving violently with the wind. Bare feet sinking into the sand. Jewelry glimmering beneath the dying sunlight. She kept crying. Not looking at them. Not speaking to them. Just crying endlessly as though mourning something too ancient to name. And then her tears touched the desert floor. Water appeared. A thin trembling stream at first. Then more. And more. Until a river began cutting through the burning sand itself. She stared at her, weakly, in disbelief. The desert immediately started drinking it back greedily beneath them. The water was disappearing almost as quickly as it appeared. He moved without thinking. Dropping to his knees beside the river, he gathered water desperately into his trembling palms before the burning ground could swallow it whole again. "Drink." His voice cracked. She had never heard his voice crack before.
