The afternoon went smoothly with all the tricks and ideas that Eva taught Natalie.
Keira and I decided to leave the room because Mom had started calling us for the lunch. We both went downstairs and opened the tiffins that Thomas had brought for us from the main grounds where the caterer wolves were working.
Thomas had bathed and changed into different clothes. He was still awkward and shy in front of Mom and Aunt Kate but he was doing his job. After eating the lunch, he left. Nirvan, Ivan and Pete were already away, doing their tasks.
"Do you think the incarnations work?" Keira whispered slightly, her face showing worry. "A Lycan," she mouthed the words. ". . . daughter's blood can be used an alternate for Luna Severa?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I came two months ago. You're the one who knows more than me. But I have seen movies. The idea might work."
We both put our plates in the sink. Mom and Aunt Kate were having some gossip with Aunt Isabel and Taria at the backyard. We both washed our plates.
Keira whispered, "Isn't it morally wrong?"
"It's not like it is that easy? A Lycan," I mouthed the word again. ". . . female would be an easy kill or manipulatable?"
Keira twisted the tap off while I wiped my hands with the towel. "But the main essence of this idea is distraction. What Ivan wants to say is to distract the Lycans and use that time to send Severa," she mouthed her name and continued, ". . . her belongings."
I nodded lightly. But then, a thought came in my mind. "Have you talked with him since the first night of the Ceremony?"
Her face turned sad. She shook her head. "He tried. But I am ignoring him," she whispered as we walked out of the kitchen to go towards the stairs.
"Why?"
She gave me an uneasy smile. "Because I didn't do the rituals. I can't meet his eyes even though, I know what I did was my own choice. Also, about how I talked to him that night. The payback thing."
I nodded while stepping on the first stair. "Treat him the way you want but don't hurt yourself in the process."
She chuckled humorlessly. "That's what happens all the time, Misty. Regardless of how I am treating him. Politely or sadistically."

Entering my bedroom, I was about to shut the door behind me when I saw Pete getting up from my bed.
"I was waiting for you," he said with a small smile.
My eyebrows furrowed and I was partly amused as how Pete was here. Wasn't he out to serve the lunch to the guests? I didn't even saw him entering the drawing room. But then, my eyes fell on the window. It was opened.
"Okay," I mumbled while walking ahead.
He sat back on the bed and gestured for me to sit too. I did while looking at him questioningly.
"You are leaving tonight," he said the obvious.
"Yeah," I said quietly.
He smiled. "I will be taking you back home to Rose. Look, I know, how mother and I brought those gifts all these years for you. Some of them were chosen with efforts and some weren't. Thomas and mother used to be excited about choosing them for you. Eva and Natalie did not. I too never took part."
