"Axel is not my mate."

Here, we go.

The new morning brought the old Eva's limit to the edge. The moment Natalie stirred in her sleep, the elder sister didn't wait to throw her questions to clear the doubts. While Natalie was now sitting on the bed and staring far at the wall, I was rubbing on my side where Eva had pinched me hard to wake me up.

After waiting the whole night for the suspense to end, this wasn't the answer that Eva and I were expecting.

"Your vagina says otherwise!"

A snicker stayed there beneath my throat when I caught the bewildered expressions of Natalie. Eva was blunt but this scene was hilarious. You don't just talk about wet vaginas the first thing after waking up in the morning.

"What?" Natalie glanced at me. "I just tried to save Misty from him." She looked back at Eva in confusion.

"But why did you do the thing they had told us not to do?" I asked desperately. "Why did you walk towards the borders? I was hell scared of you and your glass-eyed look."

Natalie's face filled with self-doubt in a moment. "I don't know, Misty. Something was pulling me. It was so strong, I couldn't resist the pull. Until your scream pulled me out of my reverie and I saw Axel getting ready to pounce on you."

Eva's favorite part had came. "That's when you found all naked Axel on you," she sneered. "It turned you on. Didn't it?"

Natalie stiffened. "I was saving Misty. I don't even like him. He is a jerk-"

"You wanted a fuck!" Eva raised her tone, her nostrils flaring. "Why the fuck were you wet then? I could smell your arousal very well."

Natalie was about to deny when the realization hit her face. She slowly digested the words. "What?"

"You heard me." Eva said, in that calm before storm tone. "If we hadn't arrived there, you would have been pregnant the third week. Within nine months, mother of Axel's pup. The male you don't even like."

Natalie's eyes widened while I tried to control my wild imagination.

"Those Lycans threw a rabbit on our side. Pete saw him dying. It's a bad omen. He howled for us. It distracted us all and then, we heard this bitch's screams," explained Eva with narrowed eyes while pointing at me.

Excuse me! I have a name!

"Even if Axel hadn't been there, you were going to the Lycans. They would have raped you. That would have been amazing too. Right?" Eva asked while breathing heavily.

Natalie's eyes turned glossy.

I gaped at the sisters when Eva said, "You were so keen on getting ruined, last night. Am I missing out something, Nate? Because this seemed just way out of the league for you. Jumping down and running towards the borders. That's not even the last thing you would want to do."

Natalie gulped hard, looking at me and Eva. Slowly, a tear leaked and then other until she broke out in sobs.

I twitched my lips and got up from the couch. Sitting on the bed beside her, I patted Natalie's back as she leaned on me. "I didn't do anything. I am telling you something was pulling me. I couldn't help but feel a presence," she choked out.

"Oh yeah?" Eva mocked with wide eyes.

Natalie's mouth closed. "It's not like you would believe me. When things happen with you, you ignore them. I couldn't. Not everyone is as stone as you, sister."

Eva's jaws clenched while I was blank at the moment.

"So, you went like a desperate whore, not trying to fight this pull?" Eva muttered through gritted teeth.
