Hiccup's POV:
--------------------
I opened my eyes slowly. Everything was blurry and the room was spinning. Merida came into view.
"AHHHHHH!" She screamed and pushed herself up against the cave of the wall. I went to ask her what she was screaming about but I couldn't find my words I couldn't even find my voice. I look behind me to see a huge black object in view. I screamed too but I sounded different. I take a moment to look back at the black object. It wasn't there it was behind me again. Then it hit me. I close my eyes hoping in my mind I was just going insane. I slowly look down to where my feet should be. Or in this case foot. Instead my arms are on the floor with scales and claws. I look back and there are my legs also the same. Yep I've given up, this must be a dream. Snap out of it Hiccup, your being an idiot. "Oh my gosh! HICCUP!....I am so sorry." She whispered the last part. I just looked at her as if she was crazy. She took out a small mirror she had next to her bow. I take a look and there I see a familiar face. I can't quite make out why it looks familiar but that's when I noticed. It was me!
The huge green eyes, the giant spikes, the black wings! The tail?!!! That's when I remembered Merida's story about the cake she gave to her mother.
Ahh! She said I could trust her! She said no tricks this time! She said it would go as I planned! I'm going to kill that old bag of wrinkles! That gamy witch gave me another gamy spell!" She shouted hitting the wall with a sword she brought that Angus carried in a bag on his saddle. I was so mad at her I shouted as loud as I could trying to get out all my anger. Or now the way I was, I didn't so much shout as roar. "It's not my fault. I only wanted to stop you from worrying about that dragon and girlfriend of yours!" She yelled. That's when it started coming back to me. Toothless. That's what a Toothless was. He was my dragon. He was a night fury. I still couldn't remember everything but I remembered that much. And then I remember I was supposed to propose to a girl but I never got to. Who she was is still a mystery to me. I started walking back and forth through the cave.
"Raw, wa aw ra gr ra." I said trying to make out words.
"It's mum all over again!" Merida said sliding down one of the walls. "Look at the bright side. At least you have your leg back." She tried to persuade me. I noticed it and took a minute to admire it. I have to admit it was nice having my leg back but as much as I like dragons I like to be human more. I'm a rider not a flyer. There's a difference. That's when another thing came to my mind. Toothless lost his tail wing. I had to build him a new one. More than one. I have made so many tails for him it's not even funny anymore. That's when my eyes widened. I looked back to see mine missing too. Well that's just great! How am I supposed to get back to Berk without being able to fly? Wait, I know how to make an automatic tail. I have one at Berk for Toothless. Maybe I can make myself one! Well that's a turn of events. Great I forgot, I don't have hands. I looked over to Merida.
"Raw, ra wa rarara rawww!" I growled at her trying to tell her she has to make me a tail.
"There is no point having a go at me? That old hag is to blame, again." She said crossing her arms. I realised this is going to be more difficult than I thought. I looked behind me to see my armour in the corner. I went over to it not even bothering to think about my probably torn to shreds clothes. I tried to open the front patch to get out my book. Finally I got it. I brought it over to Merida trying not to drool on it. Now I understand why Toothless licks me. I dropped the book infront of her as she began opening the map.
"This is just a map what am I supposed to do with this?" She asked.
"Grrrrawwww!" I responded. I tried to close the map and turn to the next page. Luckily she did it for me. "Grrr!" I pointed to my design of Toothless's automatic tail.
"Why do ye want me to build this?" She asked. Wow she can be really annoying. I showed her my tail and gave her a look that said 'idiot!' "Incase ye haven't noticed Hiccup, ye have walked all ye life. Can't ye walk now?" She asked. She is driving me insane. I turned back to the map and she opened it. Then I pointed to Berk. "Oh. But how am I supposed to build this?" I tried to tell her to turn to the next page. When she finally did I showed her all the instructions.
"Grrrrr!" I growled telling her we need to go build it now.
"I don't understand ye when ye talk like that." She said crossing her arms. I rolled my eyes and tapped Angus with my tale pushing him to make him run home. When he was out of the cave Merida called his name but I picked her up in my mouth placing her on my back. I ran out looking into the sunrise. Wow the wind feels really good on scales. Without realising my wings spread. "Hiccup! Ye can't flyyyyyy!" She screamed as I leaped off the cliff near the falls. What happened to me. I didn't want to jump of the cliff. My body somehow just made me.
"Rawwwwwww!" I roared as I noticed I was falling towards the ground as Merida screamed. Then I thought, what would Toothless do? I kept thinking and thinking but nothing came to mind. Oh this is not good! Some instincts or something must have kicked in because before we hit the floor I started spinning upward using the wind as an advantage. I still came down with a crash but at least it wasn't as harsh.
"Hiccup what where ye thinking?" Merida yelled at me.
"Rawww rawww raww grrrr." I responded trying to say 'Are you dead? No? Then stop complaining.' I picked her up putting her back on my back and began running towards the village.
"Woah! No wonder why ye fly dragons and don't run with them." She said trying not to fall off. I guess I'm not as steady as a horse. We reached the village where I ran through the town looking for the other dragons. We passed the stables but they weren't there. None of them were. Where did everyone go. I'm not even a hundred percent sure who these people are but I know that they are important. I continued running to the forge forgetting about it for now. Merida cleared the table grabbing all the equipment as I went over to the furnace. How am I supposed to light this thing? Oh....
"Hiccup light the fire will ye?" She asked me while carrying some leather. Great I have to shoot a plasma blast. I don't know how to do that? How do you do it? I opened my mouth pointing towards the furnace. I stood there for a minute like an idiot thinking the fire would just come. I'm seriously scare of breathing fire. What if it burns my mouth to pieces? "Hiccup hurry I have to get the metal in." She ordered. I kept thinking about how I was supposed to do this. Oh I've got it!
I breathed in deeply as I began to make that hissing noise Toothless makes. It must be working. I felt a hot burn in my throat. I coughed finding the feeling unusual and nearly blew the furnace to bits in the process. "Hiccup! What are ye doing?" She yelled again as I licked my lips. Well at least now I know how to shoot.
