*Y/n POV*

I felt my scroll ring, and pulled it out of my pocket. There was a text from Yang, telling me to come to the hotel.

"Hey," I said, getting everyone's attention, "Let's go."

We stood up and walked out of the bar, making sure no one was following us.

[Timeskip]

I stood behind the rest of the group, as they walked into the hotel. I stopped and looked up at the hotel, letting out a deep breath.

"You good Dad?" Darkrai said, walking up to me.

"Yeah, I'm..." I replied, "I'm... good."

He put a hand on my shoulder, and looked at me.

"Come on, we got family to see."

With that, we walked into the building. We went to an elevator, while Neo, Weiss, and MewTwo had already gone upstairs.

As we stepped into the elevator, I took a deep breath. I could feel my heart begin to race, as I thought about Cresselia's reaction.

Darkrai put his hand on my shoulder reassuringly, and I began to remember the past.

{Flashback}

"Dad!" A child's voice called.

I turned around, and saw that Darkrai was holding a small blue stone. I knew what it was, but he didn't.

Always eager to learn, Darkrai was studious. He sought every bit of new knowledge he could, looking everywhere.

"What is it, son?" I said, kneeling down.

"What is this?"

He held it up to me, and I took it in my hand. I looked it over, and began my explanation.

"This is a water stone," I said, "It allows certain Pokémon to evolve to a more powerful form."

"Woah," He said, "That's cool!"

"Here, go put it with your collection."

I handed it back to him, and he teleported it away. He then looked up to me, his eyes gleaming. I knew he looked up to me, it was in his nature.

"Dad, do you know everything?"

I stood there for a minute, ruminating over the question he asked.

"Far from it," I answered, "I may have been around long, but there are secrets even I don't know."

I put a hand on his shoulder, and looked into his eyes.

"But you, you will know everything the world has to offer and more," I assured, "Mark my words."

His shining smile was enough to fill my heart with joy. These children are my life, and if I lost them, it would be the end.

As Darkrai ran off, I came to a realization.

As his drive for knowledge continues, he will leave here. He already does, leaving for hours at a time to search for random things. But what I'm afraid of is...

What happens if he doesn't come back? What happens when he forgets his father?

{Flashback Over}

I wrapped him in a hug, surprising him. He slowly returned the hug, and I realized I was crying into his shoulder.

"I couldn't have hoped for a better son."
