Any one who doesn't remember him, he's the one who fired at godzilla filius' back to try and providing the ground teams with knowledge on the specific organ responsible. To which godzilla filius would then kill him right after he said earth can go to hell.
So yeah, I know there's no way he could have survived filius' attack in time. What this means is that this could be a nightmare and yuko is indeed dead.
