Being an orphan obviously wasn't your choice, you had been taken from your parents as a small child for reasons you did not know. It was lonely in the orphanage you lived in, it was cold and loveless and often you found yourself at the mercy of others.

Even though life was bleak and dark he always seemed to make you feel better. Henry knew he would not be able to survive if it wasn't for you because much like you the orphanage was cruel to Henry.

Things happened to the two of you, things you promised to never talk about but you offered one another comfort and love. You would often find yourself sneaking out of your own bed and sneaking into Henry's.

You were small children, your innocence being stolen in this horrid place, this colourless place. "I want to die." Was all he said, you knew he was crying because his pillow was soaking wet.

"Why don't I have a mother?" He said sadly. "You do somewhere," you said pulling the blanket over your heads. "Where?" He said looking at you, he had been crying all night.

"She's not far away, I bet she's getting your room ready as we speak!" You said trying to make him smile. "What happens if nobody wants us?" He sobbed gently.

That was one of your biggest fears, what if nobody wanted you? Could you continue living a life without love? Without warmth?

"Then we'll leave together!" You said quickly. Michael sat up slightly to look at you. "Really?" You nodded. "Where will we go?" He asked and you thought for a moment. "We'll find somewhere to live," he wiped his eyes. "A big house," you nodded.

The two of you began listing things, planning the home you would have together. "Will we get married?" You asked suddenly. Michael blushed. "I suppose we'll have to," He said looking away.

"Promise?" You asked holding out your pinky. "Only if you promise to never leave me," you frowned. "And promise that we'll stick together, no matter what!" you nodded and the two of you pinky swore.

A few months after that Henry was adopted. You saw his new mother, she was podgy with rosey cheeks and a motherly smile. She would love him greatly.

You watched as the horses took them away, he looked back and all you could hear was the promise that you'd never leave him, that you'd always stick together.

Eventually you left the orphanage, too old to be taken on as someone's child so you were cast away and sent to work.

The village you had gotten work in was small and beautiful, it was full of colour, unlike the orphanage you had called home for many years. You were 16, you had managed to get yourself a job as a maid.

When you turned up in the village you froze, what were you doing? Where were you going and how would you get there?

You wandered aimlessly down the rows of houses trying to find the one you were hired to clean but you found your efforts fruitless.

You stopped to take in the view, a field full of lush grass sat in front of you. You approached it and found yourself watching a number of boys playing football.

You decided to try your luck and ask them if they knew of the address you had scribbled on to a piece of paper in your hand.

"Excuse me?" You called waving a hand above your head to get their attention. The oldest stopped chasing the ball and looked over at you. He was too far away to see properly so you climbed the fence around the field and slowly approached him as he did you.

"You alright?" He asked as the two of you began to close the large gap between you both. "I'm a little lost-" You said looking at the address. "Do you know where number 12 St James street is?" That's when the boy stopped walking.

You copied his actions as you found his behaviour rather odd. "Well- do you?" You asked frowning slightly. "Y/N?" He said sceptically. "How do you know my-" you froze.

It couldn't be him, it was impossible. It just couldn't be him, Henry. Before you knew it you found yourself running to him. "Henry!" You bellowed loudly. At that Henry ran to you.

Soon the gap between you was gone. You leapt in the air and swiftly took him to the floor as he clearly wasn't expecting to be pounced on.

You had missed him terribly. When Henry left so did the colour in your life, so did the love and every scrap of happiness you had left.

"We made a promise!" You said gripping his top. "You made me promise that we'd stick together!" Tears began to form in your eyes but you didn't know why. You were over run by emotions.

"I know- and I'm so sorry I left you!" He said gripping you harshly, he clearly didn't believe his eyes either. "I didn't want to! I begged them to take you with us!" You found yourself being pulled into his chest as he held you.

"God I've missed you." He breathed you in as if he needed to savour the moment. "I dreamed of you every night." You said. "Me too, I dreamed of our house- our dreams!" He laughed earning him a giggle from you.

For a moment nobody spoke, you just held each other like you did when you were scared children but neither of you were scared now.

"So-" He said letting you go and helping you up. "You kept your end of the bargain," he said making you frown. "You stuck with me so I guess this means I'll have to marry you now, make an honest women out of you," he teased.

"Shut up! We were children!" You smacked him playfully. "C'mon," He said chucking as he took your hand. "I want you to meet my family." He said pulling you with him.

You happily followed him, life was looking brighter for the two of you now that you were together again.
